Life is Strange is so far ahead of anything Telltale has done. Season 1 of The Walking Dead is the only thing that comes close, storytelling wise, but everything Telltale makes runs like garbage on consoles. Especially the digital versions. TT games are a complete mess from a gameplay standpoint.

Life is Strange definitely has flaws, especially the dialogue in the first episode or two, but I think it's absolutely a step up from TT games.

 

Finally beat Batman: Arkham Knight the other night. Goddamn those tank battles are annoying.

 

I think I thought the same about the tank battles at first, too, but by the end of the game I kinda loved them.

 

They grew on me by the end but I'd still rather be fighting hand to hand.

Blood and Wine is so good so far. Definitely the prettiest area in the game. Not quite as interesting to explore as Velen+Novigrad or Skellige, but still amazing that there's a whole nother open world area roughly as expansive as any other that's been added to the game, complete with several new creatures and many new features added to the gameplay.

Also any word on how the new Mirror's Edge stacks up? It's weird how everything I've seen and heard about the game makes it sound like an improvement on the original or at least on par, but some of the reviews are brutal

Regarding Alan Wake 2, if it happens I hope there will be live action episodes, and the video footage in QB was a way of hinting at that. As great as the graphics are, it's difficult sometimes to go back to non-QB episodic games knowing there are no live action cut scenes. The talent and tech needed to successfully merge well-made live action storytelling with everything in-game in a way that isn't jarring has definitely arrived, and is currently spoiling the hell outta me with QB haha.

 

I've enjoyed my fair share of Telltale games (TWD, Wolf, and GoT), but Life is Strange touched on the things that I was wanting from Telltale. I'm still looking forward ton whatever Telltale does this summer.

 

Okay, yeah PSN's download speed is shameful, figured having an ethernet cable plugged in would make a difference, but nope...

Even show the my correct download/upload rates in the test screen.... Only 40 hours to download NBA 2K....

 

I'm at 22 GB right. Four hours left for me.

 

I could download it in an hour on my pc....

 

Not that bad for me. Plugged in, pause unpause and put on sleep mode and it'll fly. Shitty that it has to be done mind you.

 

Yeah I found downloading games while it's on rest mode is hella easier, which is why I put in rest before work on Tuesday and have the free games available once I make it home.

 

Yeah, I'm the same. I believe you can even do it remotely, so go onto the online Playstation Store, and purchase something, then there's an option to set to download.

 

Started The Talos Principle last night and loving it. Great mix of Pneuma:Breath of Life meets Portal.

Anybody else played it?

Did you re-set up your network after plugging in the ethernet? I don't think PS4 automatically switches to using LAN like a computer would just by plugging it in, but once I reconfigured the network settings to use LAN my PS4 download speed is worlds better.

 

My wifi crapped out last night while 2K16 was downloading. Meh.

 

Yeah I did, didn't make a lick of difference for whatever reason

 

Bummer, the only other thing I can recommend that seems to have helped for me is switching to Google DNS rather than default ISP DNS. I dunno if ISPs throttle consoles by default or something.

 

SMITE has double XP weekend this weekend. Says nothing about needing to party up so I don't have to worry there.p hahaha.
