Definitely the weirdest one. It’s always been obvious that Claudio is masking his real life experiences into the story, but it became really obvious for that one. Chondra broke up with him, but they were back together before the album was released. Juuuussstt long enough for him to write a hate letter to her, haha.

there’s also Patrick, who has one of the most comically depressing minor character arcs of all time

Ive always found the story goofy and superfluous, and I’ve almost always found the music rad

the music can be pretty fucking goofy but that’s always been a huge part of the charm for me

And yeah, if you say “it’s too cheesy” then you’re kind of missing the point.

Honestly surprised that It Walks Among Us wasn't a single. I feel like it will be one of them. Low key one of the best choruses on the record

@Micah511 was pretty on the ball with the brief synopsis. Theres a lot of little things that happen and subplots. The world of Amory has a strange Star Wars meets Mad Max meets (insert anime here, DBZ works) influence to it. There’s gritty death, brutal battles, bounty hunters, cobbled together weaponry like Jackhammers, all juxtaposed alongside magic that binds planets together, races akin to Tolkien species called the Mages, Prise, etc who fight alongside organic robots called IRO-bots which most of the main characters are, it’s all strange when you map it out but it works if you put the effort of understanding it in.

The main issue with the Amory Wars is, aside from what we can glean from albums and first few graphic novels, we really don’t know what happens at certain points. For the most part we don’t really know what’s going on in this album aside from basics.

The Coheed & Cambria wiki is a good place to start if you want to dig further

So I listened to this front to back finally.

What a ride. I love every album by this band besides black rainbow, but this is definitely top tier. Had an absolute blast and felt all kinds of emotions during this thing. Soaring hooks and extremely proficient musicianship. Huge NWFT vibes the whole time, almost like they took that album and updated it for 2018.
