I would skip through songs because they would drag down the hype from the others. There were only 4 songs that I would actively listen to when I replayed the record. I’m really jaded on pop punk as a whole, though.

I feel the same way. The Glass, Empty Space, Things I Cant Change and Bad Luck are all ace but yeah

If we’re being honest, I only have the Songs Of ep and Proper Dose on my phone. After listening to the new record I couldn’t go back to the previous albums with the same appreciation.

  4. I tried listening to some of their previous songs (as I’d never listened to this band before) and just didn’t dig it even half of how much I enjoy the new album.

Yeah I don’t really know how to describe why this is so much better than their other material. The pacing of the album is one thing, the production being much cleaner without much crunch in the distortion of the guitars, Parker’s vocals are tighter. Idk, it’s just solid, period.

I would have to say the variation of songs on this make it much more listenable. Getting slower tracks like Growing On You, TMAYP, Upside Down, and Let It Go all break up what used to be back to back same, fast paced tracks. That would wear me out towards the end of album listens. This keeps it fresh!

I haven't listened to this band since WYDS but I think I'll give this a listen because of how much people are talking about it

Clairvoyant and Phantom are two songs that have similar vibes to this record.

This record is pretty good. I don't think it's amazing or anything, but I'll probably return to it more times than anything else these guys have done. Glad Parker has seemingly dropped most, if not all, of his shitty misogynistic lyrics. Upside Down, Take Me As You Please, If I Fall and Line are the standouts to me

  12. The last section of “Keep This Up” is my favorite part of the whole album. The vocal melody at the end just makes me want to crank up the heat. Goosebumps, I tell ya!

This has been my go to album for just about everything lately. Commute to work? Proper Dose. Go for a jog? Proper Dose. Background music while I play Spiderman? Proper Dose. Wild considering I didn't expect to ever really like a TSSF album again

  15. Hits Daily Double projecting #22 with 21,317 first week. Solid numbers for them, about on par with the past 2

  16. Self titled charted a little higher but this week was pretty big release wise.

They (TSSF) also don't care about promo. Didn't see them push this album at all until they realized people loved/accepted it.

Damn, that is a bold statement but I will say its definitely one of my favorites. I don't listen to much pop-punk anymore so this is easily one of the best releases in that genre of the last few years IMO.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I've been slowly but surely distancing myself from pop-punk over the last few years especially, (due to the toxicity and triteness I feel regarding a lot of the trends), but this record just has certain level of clarity and potency that other albums in this vein don't have. Each song has a great "moments" that keeps the pacing fresh for 35 min

  23. This and The Greatest Generation are the only newer pop punk albums i've gotten into/obsessed with in the last few years.

Totally agree with all of this.

I keep hearing about that record and I should really give it a try. I never was a fan of the band but I heard really good things about The Greatest Generation

Yo listen to TGG rn. Its similar to this where they changed up the formula slightly and they knocked it out of the park. The mid-section drags a little bit though, FYI
