Isn't that why people become professional musicians who charge for music, tickets, merch, so on? FWIW meeting a band member (especially as a fan) is a different thing than knowing someone, and even if you did know someone, you wouldn't necessarily know the crap they can pull when no one is watching. I found out one of the nicest musicians I've ever met whose band is absolutely massive slept with a (some?) underage girls years ago and I didn't believe it because they were "so nice" and we spoke a bunch, but that ultimately means nothing.

the thing is is that not only did homeboy steal nudes (which is fucked up on its own), but then led/allowed their fans to slander and silence their victim, and then sued her. I think there's a case to be made if someone did something fucked when they were young, fessed up, grew up and took the necessary steps, but these guys are still obviously in the self preservation stage and have taken no real/concrete steps towards fixing things. why should they recover until that happens, at the very least?

A lot of people are writing these guys off as no big deal, but if it wasn't for those allegations, these guys would be one of the biggest bands in the scene. after their first record, they were on pace to become the next big thing in the scene, and I think a lot of people think that's still possible if this stuff were to go away.

 

They play Chicago all the time. Lmao

 

That and also why are general admission tickets $50. That’s ridiculous.

Yup, and that’s of course before fees. VIP looks to be just a signed autograph from the band, no meeting the band or anything else special.

I went to an Against Me! New Years Eve show in Pittsburgh a few years ago and I'd say the ticket was about $7-$10 more than the bands tickets usually are

 

The American Football shows at Bottom Lounge a few years ago were the same way. The NYE show was like $15 more expensive than the one I went to.

 

I agree that NYE shows should be more expensive but $35 for autograph is ridiculous and kind of insulting?

For anyone going to Self Help on Saturday, it looks like it’s just one stage now and whatever the price you paid is where you can stand.

 

They will be at Musica with them. I saw it on Facebook the other day and was pleasantly surprised.
