my little sister dated a dude for like a year and a half and they broke up.(they are seniors in high school)

They broke up due to not going to same school and just my sister didn't feel the connection anymore. The dude has taken a hard time getting over it because he is always texting her and he randomly shows up at our house with flowers and stuff to try and hang out with her.(he lives about 20 minutes away) It is just annoying because we know his parents are pressuring him to try and fix things and get back together instead of allowing that relationship to be a teaching moment and grow for future relationships.

when I first broke up with my high school girlfriend (though this was a bit after we graduated) my mom did the same thing and was like "you have to fight for love" or basically something to that effect. I was like what does that even mean I'm not gonna beg her to take back lol. Things did take their natural course and we ended up back together but it was a mutual thing, I just gave her her space for a bit.

first serious relationship breakups are real rough though. Like for how shitty I felt after my recent breakup it was nothing in comparison to my first one. Had to force myself to eat and I just moped for like a month.

I was the cynical bitch I've always been and my first breakup was just inevitable to me idk like I was 15 I knew I wasn't gonna marry the dude so I was mostly concerned with hurting someone's feelings. I've actually never been broken up with so I'm always waiting for that to happen and am convinced I'll actually finally rly like someone and get dumped lol since I'm always the dumper.

Wife and I are going to the courthouse Friday to get the goddamn divorce paperwork. She's the one that left but she hasn't taken an ounce of responsibility or done a single thing to advance the process forward. So I've been picking up the pieces of something I didn't want to end, all while being asked by (genuinely concerned) people about "what's next? are you going to get a divorce? what are you guys going to do?" etc and I don't have any fucking answers for them because the person who put us in this goddamn position hasn't done a single thing about it. She's not being asked these questions by anyone. You know why? Because all the concerned people that would ask those questions don't interact with her anymore. She lost a lot of friends. So she's been doing whatever the hell she wants for the past 2.5 months.

She has one day off a week. I finally just told her we're going to the courthouse on her day off (Friday) and to plan on it.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

I scrapped it all around April/May time and have been a lot happier since. Going on a date with someone really nice tonight, who I met in person and who even asked me out. My experience is that it's more fun to go out and do stuff and make connections that way. It might take a little longer, but at least you have some fun along the way.

My little sister and her boyfriend were kind of like this. She went to university and he stayed in our hometown and worked in a petrol station. Two teens breaking up when they finish college is hardly a shock, but his parents were so fucking weird about it. They took it as some sort of personal affront. My little sister came home to visit and agreed to meet up with him to try and smooth things over/hand stuff back to each other and they had to meet on the racecourse, because his parents wouldn't let her in the house.

Their immediate attitude was that she'd gone off to uni and started fucking someone else. Garbage family.

My wife and I planned our wedding in like two months. We got engaged in a September and got married on New Year's Eve the same year. My wife's dream was to always get married on an island but my family is big on big weddings and her family wouldn't have been able to afford to go to a destination wedding so that was ruled out pretty quickly.

We started looking at venues to have a traditional wedding the following summer but nothing really stood out to us. We both come from big families and my parents wanted to invite TONS of people (both my sister's weddings were huge). My wife didn't want a big wedding, and she didn't want the stress of a long, drawn out wedding plan. So we rented out a bar on New Year's Eve that held about 120 people and it took us 3 or 4 meetings to plan everything with the place. It ended up being really cool. Only thing that sucked was, since we planned it so fast, and because it was around the holidays, we were only able to give people about 6 weeks notice for invitations so other than our wedding parties, friends who lived far away weren't able to make arrangements to come because they already had holiday travel plans booked.

Best advice is to do what you and your fiance are most comfortable with and do what you want, and not what your family or friends advise. It's YOUR wedding.
