The de-aging of SLJ in this film is in a league of its own.

It looks fucking fantastic so far!! Loving the helmet and the costume. I know it will get refined and shit but it's looking damn good. Yes for de-aged Samuel L. Jackson.

This looks great. I wish they were giving us more to latch onto (particularly in regards to plot/threat & Carol's personality), but the visuals are really sharp, and I'm into Fury. The memory angle is weird, but it has some basis in Kelly Sue's run, and it could be a neat way to slowly unpack her origin. I just worry that Carol won't get to be fully Carol for half the film.

The Skrull design, Fury's presence, etc., give this a classic alien invasion vibe that I'm really into. Very "little green men." And, Carol has a nice classic comic book adventure vibe, particularly in the helmet and when she finally gets the red design. Even though this Captain Marvel is a modern invention, I could see this nailing that vintage Golden Age comic approach that, in a perfect world, Superman would be allowed to occupy.

The obligatory 90s Blockbuster and "her" in "a hero" being emphasized did make me chuckle, but marketing gotta market.

Was Blockbuster more popular than Hollywood Video in the 90s? I didn’t go to either and went to a smaller video rental store.

My take is yeah. Where I'm from (outside of Philly) Blockbuster was huge

I don't know if it was regional but the ratio of BB to HV on long island was like 25:1

Dope trailer. Give me all the Brie and Sam!

BB was easily one of the most lucrative and successful franchises throughout the 90’s for sure. Just go check any Buzzfeed “ONLY 80’s KIDS WILL GET THIS REFERENCE” post!
