I think it’s basically him saying he can’t believe anyone can support Trump. And “leave me at the outskirts of this seven-headed whore of a one horse town” is a reference to D.C. being the “city on seven hills.” I still haven’t quite figured out how the chorus relates to the topic, but it’s one of my favorite choruses on the album anyway haha.

 

Feel like "he's no longer breathing but singing along" is pretty clearly calling his followers zombies.

Dan talked about it recently, and I guess Audrina Partridge (pretty sure that’s her name) was a huge fan. But it still didn’t make it any less awkward haha

 

This is the first album in a while where Dan’s songs aren’t better than Matt’s. In fact, I think I like Matt’s songs more than Dan’s, which I was not expecting at all. That’s not a knock on Dan, I’m just impressed with how much Matt has improved.

Makes sense ! The thing I love about it than most political songs is that it comes off very mature. It's not one of those fuck this and fuck that.

 

Totally true, and you know it's funny because Dan really killed it on this album. Matt has really improved between this and My Shame.

 

I'm thoroughly confused, went on hitsdailydouble and their top 50 (not complete yet obv) has no Trio on it and the album at number 50 is at 4k sold. Pre-blink they were in the 20k range I think so this seems like an error.

they sold like, more than that in vinyl for sure because there were a bunch of colorways on the epitaph site that already came and went

I’ve always had a hard time comparing Blink and Alkaline. I love both bands. But their sounds and styles are different for the most part. They also fill different niches. I love that I have both active though :)

 

I believe he plugged Blackbird.

 

California was fine, I guess, but matts presence felt very subdued to me and it had a TON of cuttable tracks. I'm also just not huge on how their voices sound together, theyre kinda too similar.

 

I think the voice complaint is a pretty common one and is on point.
