Going to be interesting when the reactions start rolling in. It's obviously the record they've been gradually building towards, but it's also different enough that I can see quite a few people being alienated by it. Way less edge than anything else they've done (even Cody). The closer almost sounds like a Jens Lekman song. I really, really like it. Definitely the most diverse and risky album they've made thus far. Favourites are Friends We Met Online, Wildflowers, and Big Lie.

yeaaahhhh my kneejerk one listen reaction is that im not a fan of alot of the stuff on here which bums me out really hard. they've lost so much edge in their songwriting but it's where they've been heading. some of these songs are gonna be total buzzkills in the middle of their sets lol

i hope it grows on me. this is one of my fav bands ever and NHA is maybe my fav album of all time. sucks to not jive with one of your favs

 

I would also enjoy the opportunity to listen to this album.

Big Lie is such a fucking jam. Really loving this so far

 

I wish I was back home/had this loaded on my phone already because I want to listen to the closer on repeat.

 

if "big lie" is this band without their edge then gimme nonstop edgeless music

 

big lie is pretty decent. second half was mostly where i had issues

 

dunno how much ill listen to this before release day but i'll definitely still be spending time on it. hope it grows on me.
