Gonna check out Vermintide 2 because of it.

 

Watched the gameplay video for Cyberpunk 2077 and the opening part about V's apartment was exactly like Dredd. Also Dredd rules.

 

Anyone read the Witcher books? I'm on the second novel and loving them so far.

 

I stopped when the audiobooks stopped coming out, but I did like the ones I listened to.

They're the best. Also makes the already perfect W3 so much better

 

I'm on time of contempt right now and absolutely hooked. I remember having a difficult time with the lore of both Witcher 2 and 3 so maybe a replay is warranted after I finish these. Especially since I didn't get to experience the DLC

 

It definitely helps with the lore. It also helps if you know what happens in Witcher 1. It’s all one big thing.

 

2 wasn't super huge on book references since Geralt still had amnesia or whatever, but soooo many quests in 3 are love letters to events that happened in the book. Especially Blood and Wine, so it will be good to experience that for the first time after reading. Since the games take place after the books you also get some insanely satisfying conclusions from the games that you wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Like seeing Ciri grown up is fucking powerful after you've spent all those books with her growing up. Also the love story with Yennifer is one for the ages.

The one thing that's really weird about reading the series after playing the games though is that relationship between the emperor and Ciri is like a book 7 twist, but obviously we already know from the game.

 

I seem to have forgotten what was probably most of the plot of the games so I should be good to rediscover them. I've been waiting for that dwarf from Witcher II to show up but I don't think he has yet. Zoltan. He was rad.

 

Ha, don't worry, he'll show up eventually and he's awesome.

Dredd is one of the best action movies this decade

I’m not surprised, the advant of digital sales was the writing on the wall for them. Doesn’t help that they turned their stores in pop culture knick knack outlets either.
