I yelled "You can't fire me, I don't work in this van!" in heavy traffic today at my girlfriend

I like this show too much

    Cheeseball alert!

I made this printout for my girlfriend's birthday today and left it taped to our bathroom mirror. The pic is of us from Halloween last year and I wrote on the back about how she is my Pam Beesly and it took 10 years to find her.

Back to Phyllis possibly cheating / rocky marriage:

In “Michael’s Last Dundies” Bob Vance is nowhere to be found at the ceremonies (he was present way back in season 2 before they were even married).

    Hmm.

two great moments in "Michael's Last Day" (granted there are a lot of great moments, but these two stood out to me yesterday)

    - Michael dying of laughter after giving Oscar the scarecrow puppet thing. I don't even think that that's Steve acting, I think it's just him laughing about the stupidity of the character they've created in Michael and Oscar's great responses to him over the years.

    - when Michael is freaking out and calls Holly. right before he calls he says he can't go, that he's gonna stay and yet as soon as she makes him laugh he calms down and is perfectly fine again and seems to almost forget why he called in the first place. really fantastic and short scene that shows how much he loves her and how great they are together.

I've been reflecting on the series finale, and looking at it now, I kind of wish they didn't bring back Michael in that episode. He really didn't have many lines at all and they didn't give him anything funny to say or do. Idk, at least have him being a big goof like usual, he just seemed subdued.

i very much disagree here :)

to me, it's a perfect return of Michael, but married and father form. his "that's what she said" here is the BEST one of the entire series for me. kills me every time.

if i recall, i believe Steve fought against having more screen time and lines. he didn't want the episode to be about Michael returning, which is why his time is so limited.

Pam telling us that he has two phones because he has so many pictures of his kids that his first phone ran out of room is so perfectly Michael.

also, him returning to be Dwight's best man is just perfect and very fitting.

I kinda loved the way he was used. The 7 years his character was on the show they made it feel like they were a family, and not just co workers who only spent 9 to 5 together. Once his character was written off it always felt odd to me that there was never any mention of him again. Like, he proposed to Holly, but then they never even made a mention about people from the office flying out for their wedding. Seeing him at Dwight's wedding just felt right. I didn't need much camera time or lines from him, it was just nice knowing that his character would still fly back home for his friends wedding.

    super unimportant nitpic:

the one thing i was thinking of this morning though that really doesn't make sense to me - and this was probably because Steve was done with the show and didn't want to return or do a one-off besides the finale - Michael doesn't invite the office to his wedding? i mean, i get it. Steve was done with the show, but i don't think the show even references it happening. like, Michael wouldn't have emailed everyone a billion times about it or his kids? they definitely could have / should have at least mentioned it, but i get why they didn't.

I doubt he'd want to trouble everyone to fly to Colorado for the wedding but he definitely would have updated everyone with pics of his new life with Holly.

see, i think he would definitely want everyone there (remember all the times he talked about his wedding during Phyllis's and Pam and Jim's?) but i suspect Holly would have talked him out of inviting everyone since it'd be impossible for everyone to travel (who would be working lol) and she'd talk some sense in to him about it. but if it was his choice, i definitely feel like Michael would invite everyone and not understand why distance, money and time would be a problem lol

Yeah, Michael returning to the finale was perfect. Honestly couldn't imagine the finale being anywhere close to as great as it is without him.

when did Pam and Jim get married? i'm sure someone has figured that out. had to be summer right? they went to Niagara Falls for god's sake. they'd freeze to death in winter with how they were dressed / how close they were.

The show was presented in real time (summers off, etc.) so it would've been October

I think Weightloss was the only episode to depict time during the summer

interesting. i wonder what the weather is usually like in Niagara Falls in October. granted, in Wisconsin our summer begins in September and goes until January so i guess it could have been warm there too in October.

In October it depends I guess lol. Could be warm or cold. When I lived there it sometimes snowed in October other times it was 50s, 60s.

Two years ago we were outside having a BBQ the week before Thanksgiving and it was 70’s and didn’t drop below 35 once until February. Last year it was like -10 though. I feel like every season in this state got reshuffled / delayed and now nothing is when it’s supposed to be anymore.

Hell, this year it didn’t get to the 70’s ONCE until July.

Winter does not start in September in Wisconsin. Try mid November haha (and it goes through all of February)
