Hope this is the downfall of Real.

Diego Costa... What an absolute, unfiltered, complete bastard.

Love him. One of my favourite players ever.

Please this. I honestly think third is what they can realistically aim for this year.

  4. Is Modric leaving? I don’t know how any team can rebound after losing the best goal scorer and best midfielder in the world in the same summer.

  5. With that said, I am glad they’re sorta passing the reigns to Bale and letting it be his team (I think that’s what happening). And I think Isco and Ansensio will eventually become consistently elite. So they’ll certainly be fine. Just might take some time.

They should sell Modric and Bale and use this season as a rebuild for next season.

  7. Bale is still in his prime. I’d keep him. Benzema is the one who should go if they’re doing a semi-rebuild.

    Who replaces Benzema though?

  9. Yeah that’s the potential problem, they don’t really have a replacement right now. I mean, I think Bale could definitely fill-in and play well as the CF. But then I don’t know who they’d play as a midfielder or winger. I highly doubt they’d sell any of the starters without a plan for an incoming player though.

Players are too expensive now for Real to sell too many players.

    Anyone watching MLS tonight?

Rooney brace. Two good goals. Almost chipped the keeper for a third.

I hope they don’t make it a game that “means” something locally. Like moving the Seville derby (or any derby) or one of the games like Madrid away to Valencia or Barcelona away to Sociedad or Celta Vigo which always is an issue for the “big club.”

I was trying to describe myself to someone

I don't see how you can have a league game where it doesn't matter locally. Hate the whole idea of taking league games abroad.

And what a way you won me over

Will one team then be losing out on a home game?

I agree 100%. But Barcelona having to come here to play Alaves or Leganes instead of their home game wouldn’t change as much as it would in the opposite direction, if that makes sense?

You can blame the NFL for the system. They’ve had tremendous success with scheduling games in London (and Dublin? I can’t remember) the last couple seasons.

It's 3 NFL games a season in London. I've been to a couple of them, while they've not been the best of teams that play them it was good fun going for the day. Looks like theyve started to get better games this year though. I'd imagine it must've been annoying for the local fans of the teams I saw though having them over here.

I really don't like the idea, but if they have to do it, I'd rather it was a match that doesn't have much riding on it.

The NFL has had their games in London. NCAA has had games in Dublin. The Emerald Isle "Classic".

So the integrity of Spanish football is going to go out of the window here to suit the financial bias of Spanish football. Lets be clear, nobody in America is going to want Huesca v Leganes, they are wanting Barca, Real and Atleti at a stretch. So all this is going to do is continue the finanacial monopoly at the top. Like some have said, I hope it doesn't affect games with something riding on them (other than three points of course) ie. derbies. But I don't really think those at the top will care about loyalty and passion.

    I do not exist.

I hated the idea when the Premier League floated it a few years back and I hate the idea now that a country is actually doing it.

    Sadly football follows the money...
