If the rest of the record is as good as the first two songs it'll absolutely blow away the last three albums for me and I think the break will only have helped Trio make a great record

 

Also I'm fine with blink being Matt's one big side project. I like Sekrets a lot but there's definitely songs on there I would have liked to see become full fledged Trio songs (How The Hell Did We Get Here especially since it was debuted at a Trio show.) Taking into account how many songs the guy has written between Trio, Heavens, Sekrets, theHell... I don't need them to feel obligated to make a Trio album every two years. And if Matt isn't the primary writer in blink, as far as I'm concerned all his best is saved for Trio now. And it probably won't be as long as 5 years between Trio albums since they were already two years past Shame when he joined blink.

 

Yeah he can play in two distinct sandboxes now - I love Sekrets but I still confuse some the songs with Trio songs - like Falling Like Rain is basically Eating Me Alive.

Though I would like to hear some of the Sekrets style stuff creep into Blink, while Mark brings more of the +44 sound, since I think it would mix so well together.

Not like I want Blink to go in some mature dark direction again, was out running errands today and through California on for the first time in a few months and its just the perfect windows down Summer record.

 

Same set length, which they have been consistently doing since 1999.

Yeah that sounds really sketchy. It's 2018.....if someone claims to either not know how to transfer via Ticketmaster and/or claims to not have venmo/paypal, I immediately assume it's a scam.

 

I ran into this recently. Had never heard of someone transferring money through Amazon, and I got an uneasy feeling. Glad I was right!

 

Got the same ticket scam person. Left t on read cause I don't wanna deal with that. Really need to go to this show! Might just get a train up there and hope for a last minute stubhub price drop

 

You guys should definitely post in those event pages to warn people not to buy from her.

Matt Skiba talks Alkaline Trio's early years, heartbreak and joining Blink-182

The vocalist/guitarist also talked about how it took him “10 seconds” to decide to join Blink-182, as well as how it affects his life and Alkaline Trio.

“I think the one thing that Blink does that Alkaline Trio didn’t is… my parents have always been very supportive, but now that I play in Blink, all of my parents’ friends are so jazzed that it makes my folks excited,” Skiba explains. “From the outside looking in, it is a huge new step—it’s definitely a point in my life that will always stand out.”

All hail Matt the Work machine

 

Tom’s social media hyping is full swing. Looks like they found a day this month to work on music. He gathered up David Kennedy, one of the Rubins, and apparently Matt Wachter is joining them.

I still WILL NOT find myself hyped for anything, yet.

 

Was about to type "would rather see AVA on tour than hear a new album" but stopped myself when I remembered Tom singing live.

 

I’m happy to listen to any new Tom music but I know to keep my expectations lukewarm at best.

 

We’ll see if you’re right in 2025

 

As much as I enjoyed chasing shadows, I just NEVER put it on. Even the back catalogue I just have no desire to hear anymore. I’d go see him live tho. I know it’d be not great with how he sings but there’s something endlessly intriguing about him as a person and an artist. I’ll shit on him all day but then be in awe of him in person. I’m a very conflicted “fan”

 

Decided I should sell my ticket to the CT show next month... we have a wedding the next day, I just got cast in a show, and I’m hoping to go to Dear Jack in November.
