Hanging out with Geoff Rickly and Chuck Ragan in 2012. I was watching Geoff in the acoustic tent and Chuck came and stood by me. He noticed my Thursday and Hot Water Music tattoos. After Geoff finished Chuck told me to follow him. He introduced me to Geoff by saying this dude has both of our bands tattooed on his arm. I spent the next hour hanging with them both. What a day. And I also got to see Hostage Calm and Make Do and Mend that day.

Meeting Shane from Silverstein after watching them tear apart the Mutant stage with Beartooth last year and having a vulnerable moment was my favorite.

NOTE: I called in that story to idobi radio and I got free tix to Chicago Warped by doing that

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

I already posted most of my great memories

-MC Lars pulling me up on stage
    -Seeing Linkin Park
    -Meeting Less Than Jake
-Meeting NFG and Chad remembering me from their set

But there’s one non-band-related memory that will always be cool to me:

I became internet friends with this dude that I met through a Facebook group. We had been friends via online for three years (now five), but we never met each other in real life.

We both ended up going to Warped Tour in 2016, my 4th Warped, his 1st (and only). I saw him post about it on FB and I was like “oh! Cool!”

I had been trying to track him down all day. I saw him in some pits, but had no luck saying hi to him.

Then, after Yellowcard closed the Left Foot stage and I was walking back to my car, what are the odds that I seeing standing around talking to his friends?

So I ran up to him and was like “hey!” and he was STOKED. We chatted in person for the first time, and it was as a big of a highlight as seeing Sum 41 for the first time.

One of the reasons why 2016 will always be my favorite Warped I’ve attended

Watching Less Than Jake side stage in 2014 and then going for a ride around the lake behind the venue on a boat owned by one of the members of the Attack.

You're good dude. I won't the miss the SJW vibe in this thread. In before the kids (even those older than me) make comments about this lol

Never understood why the Pop Punk kids of 10 years ago ended up going that route. Thought it was an Emo/Scene kid thing.

Also I can't believe my summer tradition since 2005 is finally done.

Ryan’s been looking like a full member on the Warped dates. I would totally be cool with Ryan joining NFG. He’d add a very different element to the songwriting. But also it could have been coincidence or marketing since Ryan is a “warped icon”.

Some of my favorite Warped memories:

-2003, it was my first Warped Tour, and for my date it was Taking Back Sunday's return to stage after John and Shaun left. First time seeing them, first time I ever crowd surfed, and the crowd's energy was pure insanity.
-2005, this was the summer after graduating high school, and little did I realize it would be the last time I would see so many of my high school friends. Moshing to The Offspring with all my friends was a great memory.
-2008, I got a press pass and got to watch Angels and Airwaves from the photo pit. It was surreal seeing my idol Tom literally inches away from me.
-2018, finally seeing Simple Plan. They played several other years I attended, but back then I was such a scene kid and I didn't think it was cool to like them (even though I secretly did). Glad I finally got to cross them off the list!

Whoo West Palm Beach was a wild ride! Ended up doing Denver, Chicago, Tampa and WPB this year so I'll try and put together a recap of everything. Less Than Jake into Pennywise was an absolutely legendary way to finish out the Vans Warped Tour .

    - My first Warped in ‘08 is memorable.
    - Meeting Derek from Mayday Parade
    - Being obsessed with TDWP and waiting at the stage for hours until they played
    - Watching Angels & Airwaves acoustic backstage

Many other years were good but that had a lasting impact. 2013 was memorable because I volunteered and worked with Defeater all day, got to eat lunch with them and then join them on stage.

    Warped memories

On stage with MC Lars in 2013
Discovering The Wonder Years for the first time in 2013
Winning Riot Fest tickets in 2014
Seeing a private Yellowcard acoustic set in 2014
Discovering PUP and Moose Blood in 2015
The insane main stage lineups in 2016
Being with all of my friends at the same place in 2016
Side stage for Real Friends and Simple Plan in 2018.

All the memories man. I wouldn't have discovered so many bands w/o Warped.

Nothing will be able to replace warped tour. This is so sad that it's gone it's been the highlight of my summer since 2013. Thanks for everything warped.

My favorite memory of warped tour was discovering Enter Shikari when they were announced in 2014 then getting front row and meeting them that same year at warped. They are now my favorite band and it is all thanks to the music warped tour opened me up to.

Trying to think of some of my favorite memories, even though I only went 3 years/times including Tampa on Saturday.
    • Meeting Jenna from Tonight Alive (at my first Warped Tour in 2012)
    • Vocalist from While She Sleeps went through the crowd at the end of their last song, walked to the water, and dove in (2 or 3 kids dove in too. This was when it was at Vinoy Park still.)
    • Joel from Being As An Ocean getting off the stage and having everyone crowd around him singing along (you know, normal stuff for them)
    • Sharptooth’s entire set this year and meeting Lauren after
    • Watching my friend skank to Less Than Jake and being the only person around us doing it
    • Getting into the pit for Mychildren Mybride during “On Wings Of Integrity” and having a strap on my cheap backpack break after like 10 seconds

2014: discovering One OK Rock, singing my heart out to Finch/meeting them after
2015: finally getting into Citizen after not being able to previously for whatever reason, seeing The Wonder Years/meeting Dan, watching August Burns Red from side-stage, meeting Crossfaith
2016: first time seeing Warped outside of Toronto; first time seeing The Maine/Sum 41, last time seeing Yellowcard
2018: seeing Bedouin Soundclash and Sum 41 play to a big local crowd, seeing the Maine nail it yet again

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

    - In 2009, the first year I went, was a lot of fun. The act of actually going to a concert where I knew music by bands I was seeing was huge for me. Seeing bands like Bayside, The Maine, All Time Low, You Me & Everyone We Know, and 3OH!3, all of which who I'd listened to beforehand, were all so great. 3OH!3 especially really blew my mind at how big their crowd was/how much energy the gave back to the band.

    - In 2010, getting to go back stage and watch We the Kings side stage, and meeting Travis, Cassadee Pope, Bryce Avery of The Rocket Summer and Mike Posner, who all did guest spots. That blew my 17 year old mind.

    - In 2011, having a slow first half, but getting to meet The Wonder Years, Foxy Shazam, and Set Your Goals, and then closing the second half of my day with Bad Rabbits, Foxy Shazam, The Wonder Years, and Hellogoodbye - all of which were fantastic.

    - In 2012, getting to watch Transit play songs from Listen & Forgive for the first time, as well as Joe dive into the crowd on a boogie board during "Stay Home."

    - In 2013, getting to meet Motion City Soundtrack, who I'd been dying to see for years, despite their set getting cut off due to weather, and watching The Wonder Years at the dead front of the crowd/catching a drum stick.

    - In 2014, watching Attila, State Champs, and Echosmith in a span of an hour and a half was really fun and surreal - three totally different bands giving really fun, great sets. Less Than Jake I also remember being particularly great that day.

    - In 2015, going to two dates was fun - I had a blast getting to see The Wonder Years and Aaron West twice, as well as see Simple Plan in Chicago.

    - In 2016, watching The Maine for the first time and hearing their live version of "Growing Up," which was so beautiful that it brought me to tears, and still does thinking about it. The main stages, in general, were so sick that year, and why I liked the final lineup so much due to the amount of repeats.

    - In 2017, GWAR. Like, I had fun at some other sets, but if it weren't for GWAR, I don't know if my day would have been nearly as great, and I liked that the tour took a chance by booking them.

    - In 2018, singing with The Maine is still the coolest thing I will do, or will ever do, with my life. I had a lot of fun in Cleveland with all my friends, meeting The Maine, and seeing 3OH!3, Every Time I Die, Knocked Loose, Simple Plan, State Champs, etc. And even though Detroit wasn't the best, I still had a decent time, and wasn't enough to dilute how great Cleveland was.
