Fitness center here sux. Tiny and hot and nothing to wipe the limited equipment down with. I dont expect a full gym but come on! Have been going but for a shorter time than I normally would at my own gym

  3. My workout class yesterday at 6pm was 45 minutes of squats and then I went to the 6am kickboxing class this morning. Can't move.

God. Now when I eat trash my body REALLY hates it. It's a blessing and a curse. Had a lot of sugar today and I feel absolutely awful. Literally feel hungover

Yeah I hear that. If I were to have a single slice of cake at a party now it'll ruin me for the rest of the day.......but 7 years ago my lazy ass could sit on the couch and eat an entire cake and feel fine.

Lol yup. Exactly. Like, it’s not necessarily a bad thing, it makes it easier to not cheat. But sometimes you just gotta give in and god damn it is not worth it haha

Yeah me too. It's actually helpful cause I'll have a craving and then feel sick or my teeth will feel like they're rotting from the sugar and I'm like oh that wasnt even really worth it? Nice to have a reminder sometimes tho lol

i had a pop-tart (just one! not even the both from the pack!) the other day and just about lost my whole day because of it. it's amazing how quickly the body can adapt to change / forget about something it used to have on a regular basis (shit food, sugar, etc.)

I went to a cardio tennis class today. I'm definitely doing that again. It's actually something I enjoyed doing and got a great work out.

Hell yeah. My favorite thing to do after a good workout in college was to play a bit of racquetball. It was pretty fast paced so you were able to warm down and get some cardio in. I'm not sure I've ever heard of cardio tennis though, sounds interesting haha

    Maybe so, maybe not.

I’m a Type 1 Diabetic since 15, so I honestly can’t really binge hard on bad food. Glass half full, I guess...*

    *Not really though.

Yeah, its a pretty fun class to be fair. The drills follow a similar kind of pattern, like the coach will feed balls to forehand, then backhand, then forehand, then backhand, getting you running from side to side. Then lap the court when someone else is doing it. Other one is the coach stands at the net and you stand on the baseline and he drops balls over the net and you have to sprint from baseline to pick it up before 2nd bounce. All follow that similar format but changing up shots e.g run from baseline, touch net, then run back to hit overhead smash.

Heading to a Peloton show room to check out their spin bike. Built in tablet with spin classes at home, hoping to do more workouts with it. Hard going out when you have a kid.

It's crazy how expensive it is, but it's been ordered. Looking forward to sweating it out. They said it'll ship in 7-10 days.

  20. Do you get anything other than the bike? Do you have to pay a monthly fee for the classes?

  21. Drewski

    Maybe so, maybe not.

At the end of the day, an expensive thing is always worth what you put into it...so if you use the Peloton, it'll be worth it. We have two in the gym in our apartment building and my girlfriend LOVES it. I only do spin when I go to the Phish spin class that happens once a month, but I think the technology behind Peloton is absolutely brilliant.

Yeah, $2k for the bike, and $40/mo for classes.

I've had a bad summer. Went on a bachelor party, took a family weekend getaway, birthday parties almost every weekend and I took a week and a half off from the gym in mid-July. This morning I was 190...for the first time in a LONG time. Earlier this summer, I was as low as 182. My weight fluctuates a lot so I'm sure I can get that 190 down to 186/187 or so soon, but for the last several weeks I've been fluctuating in the high 180s whereas earlier this summer and prior, I was fluctuating in the low 180s. I've been very undisciplined the past month or so.

After a long hike yesterday I opted to do yard work and put the gym off until today. Unfortunately I slipped as I was just about done in my front yard and fractured my foot. It was easily the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life.

This is now the 3rd summer in a row I’ve fractured a bone (2 years ago - wrist, last year - thumb) and I am not happy about it. I’m in a boot and on crutches for the next 6 weeks which is going to throw off my exercise routine a ton. No running or leg workouts in general. I can barely walk as is so getting to the gym is gonna be rough.

Has anyone run into a similar situation and devised ways to stay active?
