Yeah I was just about to edit that haha, forgot it’s now his third season , for some reason I thought he started halfway through the season in 16/17.

I don’t know why it always happens, prob because he can never take criticism and being at a team for 3 seasons the mistakes are more noticeable.

I think both sides are to blame, at least in this instance. I don't think he has been backed in the transfer market, or at least has been backed in the wrong way. He's identified problem areas and solutions to those problems, but the board haven't provided the solution. Major example is right wing. We don't have a single right winger in the squad. Last year, Mou identified Perisic as the solution, but the board couldn't provide. Full back is another. It's hard to be as competitive as he would like with an out of balance squad.

He does obviously deserve a portion of the blame himself, and he's got himself in a right mood about it being a WC year so half the squad is missing for preseason, but yeah.

It is 100% a put up or shut up kind of year for Mourinho. Three straight years of no title challenge, coupled with incompetent football in the final third, will be the end of him.

He's just penned a heartfelt farewell message on Insta. I've never seen him play but have read he's good defensively yet not as attacking as Baines used to be. The fee is supoosedly £20m which for a 25 year old with his pedigree of clubs seems like a snip.

I'm hoping it's sorted shortly, can't stand the waiting for a decision.

Honestly, I want Maguire. I don't think Mina is good enough and I don't want us to give Spurs a penny.

I think there should be more home talent in the Man Utd team personally so I agree that Maguire is a good choice. Mina might be good in the future but we, and Mourinho especially, need a quick turnaround.

Mina is not the answer. Our defence needs a leader, not another young up and coming.

As an update to this Mansfield have now passed evidence to the FA and Police regarding Forestieri racially abusing their captain. We’ve released a short statement denying it. I’d be surprised if anything comes off this to be honest. I also think it’ll mean that Mellis will get away with volleying Lees in the stomach.

I can't believe Spurs haven't signed anyone yet. The squad just needs a replacement for Dembélé and a back-up for Kane... ENIC and Levy better enjoy this season because it's the last one with everyone at the club. I can't see Pochettino or the likes of Kane / Eriksen / Alli staying around for much longer.

    Shit's infuriating.

  15. I’m not worried yet. I think we’ll see 2 signings in the next week. And I think Toby stays. I’m predicting a CM and an attacking player by the end of the window.

Higuan has been loaned to Milan with an option to buy of £32m next summer which I'm surprised at. Especially to a "rival" team.

  17. Also, worrying about Kane and Poch wanting out is kinda crazy. They just signed new deals like a month ago. Eriksen is likely next in line.

It's Italy. They don't care. There's always transfers between them.

  19. And Juventus will still easily run away with the league title. Easy money for them.

  20. I hope one of the major US networks picks up the Italian league. Juventus is going to be fun.

    RE: Spurs.

I don't know man. We haven't read the terms and conditions of their contracts. And contracts all have resolution processes that can be triggered by either of the Parties anyway. I work for a major french sports organization's legal department and in my experience, signing a new deal doesn't mean much. It just means that the club would get more out of a potential transfer since the contract was just signed.

Kane more or less said that we'd need to keep getting better to keep him at the club and Pochettino is backpedaling on his "we need to be brave in this transfer window" pep talk.

If we don't aim higher, there will be departures.

Poch was interesting in his press conference that he said he wasn't consulted about closing the window early. Spurs ended up voting for it. Can't see a manager being happy with that.

It was such a dumb short sighted choice overall. Especially in a world cup year

Of course we need to keep improving to keep players. I think that is the case for any team. As frustrating as the transfer windows have been recently I don’t think it necessarily means we aren’t improving. Last season the only real impact signing we made was Sanchez (not counting Lucas because he didn’t play much). Yet we still showed progression. Maybe not in the league table but we looked much better in Champions League. There is still time to make a couple of signings to help the squad.

The team doesn’t need a huge overhaul. The starting 11 is set for the most part. The only spot where you can argue needed improvement is CM. Every other position we have good to great players at. In this market it is very hard to bring in players who are quality and yet willing to come off the bench AND take lower wages than bigger clubs are willing to pay. Levy’s job is not easy. And even so, stability for a young team is important. The team is growing together and it’s important to keep that going. The key is to make sure we don’t get stagnant while keeping stability.

I’m not going to argue that Levy doesn’t have his faults or that he doesn’t make the transfer windows frustrating. But when you look at where the club was when he took over compared to now it’s hard to be upset.

    Sorry for rambling

Man, Palace have had "positive talks" with Max Meyer. I'd like us to take the risk, he's really good on his day.

  25. What happened to Max Meyer? He is available for free and no one wants him.
