Basement - Promise Everything (January 29, 2016) Album • Page 4

My hopes are that they go big with this record but I'm expecting a Promise Everything Pt. 2 tbh (I hope they prove me wrong). My dream come true would be an LP full of stuff like Comfort+Wish. The combo of those two songs is hands down my favorite thing in their discog.

 

Wish is by far the best song on Colour imo. It feels like people only recognize Whole or Pine as the top songs on it though haha

 

I'm not sure where I'd like them to go next. Colourmeinkindness is a very important album to me, but it's also the only Basement album that I enjoy. Doesn't mean I want Colourmeinkindness 2.0, bands repeating themselves and stagnating bores me, but something about that album really worked. Polished up from their previous work (especially vocally), a good balance of morose and big songs, delivers an emotional punch, great production, just a really solid alt-rock album! If they can recapture the magic of Colourmeinkindness, their next album will be a special one
