I was totally onboard with pulling a Jaws and barely having Godzilla in it. I like that...in theory. The thing is, if you’re gonna do that you better have interesting characters to carry the rest of the movie and that it did not. Not only are they not memorable at all, but they were so incredibly stupid. I just couldn’t get past that.

that’s a joke. But who knows, it could be true, haven’t seen it since theaters and I was a kid

 

Oh trust me, that one does not hold up.

 

This sums up my thoughts on that movie perfectly.

 

Shin Godzilla >>> all the other ones in any order because they are all kind of bad

 

The first half is actually super entertaining. It goes south pretty quickly as soon as they're off the island.

 

Damn, that movie is 3 hours and 20 minutes!? Homie needs to learn to edit. I doubt that length is warranted. I kind of want to watch it now. I just remember those slugs

 

Godzilla 2014 is a treasure, and anyone who thinks differently is a jabroni

 

I have mixed feelings on Jackson’s King Kong film, but I prefer his vision of Kong the character over the one from Skull Island.

 

Consider me King of the Jabroni’s then

 

why? i’m very excited for this movie. sorry i didn’t like one tangentially related to it.

Back when I lived in the Bay I’d always pass this restaurant in Oakland called King Dong. Now that’s a movie I wanna see

 

There’s a hotdog at Universal Studios near the King Kong ride that has unofficially come to be known as the Kong Dong due to its massive size.

 

I’d take the worst Shōwa Godzilla film (Godzilla’s Revenge) over JW

 

I guess this is unrelated but sort of related, my friend once told me the very first “adult film” he watched as a youth was titled “Kinky Kong.” We recently revisited this just to see and it is absolutely bonkers.

 

I thought Godzilla 2014 was nearly perfect outside of Quicksilver.

 

It was too long. It felt like two different movies. There was the first 1/3 with Bryan Cranston and then the last 2/3 where they completely switch focus.

 

I can see that. Doesn’t help Elizabeth Olsen’s only
job was to cry and run away from things.

 

She's such a better actress than that especially if you've seen Wind River. Sucks they gave her such a throwaway role.
