It's sad that he doesn't understand at all why his photo with Erdogan was a problem. He just plays the victim card now and while he has some points he just should have started with acknowledging that he made a mistake. And oh yeah, he probably should have done so shortly after the photo, not like 6 weeks later.

Not sure if he received racism from his teammates or fans

He received racism from far right-wing politicians and some idiot "fans". But as sad as it is this is nothing new and not limited to Özil. The main criticism was because of the meeting with Erdogan shortly before the Turkish election. And that criticism was well deserved and not racist at all.

Some serious briefing tonight about United being after Maguire...

Maguire being scouted for £65 million is absolutely ludicrous. Although Richarlison going from Watford to Everton for £50 million sorta sums it up and in a market with those values I can see how that makes sense. 5 goals in 38 games gets you going for that value is sickening yet we can't sell Tierney for a tenth of that.

I'd say Tierney will go for near enough that. Heard he doesn't want to leave until the 10 in a row though. Would like him at United.

2 goals + 1 assist for Pulisic. No wonder why gravestone teeth was tapping him up.

I won't go into the Everton game as nobody is bothered about my analysis. Marco did say after the game, however, that we need 4/5 new signings and Richy + Digne will be two of them. So yeah, fuck Tierney.

It's mad that we might go into the season with Darmian as our right back.

I've always been a fan of United and as much as i'd like to see Tierney stay for 10IAR, i'd happily see him grow at United if we got a good price for him.

I wouldn't be shocked if we aren't signing a left back this season, so we can keep an eye on how he does next season. Seems like a proper United signing.

I always thought Luke Shaw would have been the go-to left back and he looks like he at least wants to make it stick but I just can't see any UK player in that position. Both for United and Celtic if Tierney stays or goes. United do need a left back desperately. Almost as much as we need a right back.

Others did not "abuse" him, they criticised him for taking a picture with Erdogan right before the Turkish election and for not explaining it before the World Cup started. Which is totally valid if you know anything about the relationship between Erdogan and Germany.

One of the most outspoken critics was Cem Özdemir, leader of the German green party and - believe it or not - of Turkish heritage. Just because someone has Turkish roots does not mean he has to support the Turkish president/dictator for his election campaign. Emre Can for example was also invited to the event but declined to take part in it.

  16. I want Pulisic on Spurs badly. I think he may end up staying at Dortmund for another year though.

Awesome that Pulisic got two goals today. Hope he can at least get one when he plays in front of his home crowd?

I just read that he couldn't be named Man of the Match just because the sponsor for that award is Heinicken and he is not old enough to drink yet in the US. That's hilarious (just like the US drinking age is).

Right then, here it is then. I'm going to start by saying that Keane was a disaster and looked like he couldn't run (there is an interesting quote from someone at United's youth academy regarding this which you should look up) when Porto scored their only goal. He made the mistake and couldn't give a damn about atoning for it. As for Marco being able to rectify his form? I seriously doubt that. As for anyone coming in for him? I seriously doubt that too on 80k. But wait, at least we have Williams to come in. We are desperate for a new CB, maybe even two (Mina looks like he is off to Lyon instead by the way). We cannot rely on Jagielka and Holgate for Christ sake.

Midfield was the same old story: Who is going to play the final ball? The game just passed the lot of them by, particularly in the second half. Davies isn't the man for the job, he isnt incisive enogh. I feel he might need a loan to get more out of him. Schneirdlin isn't, but he didn't do too badly today. Gueye won't be. Sigurdsson? Perhaps, if he plays as an 8 under Marco. Besic was very industrious when he came on, our best midfielder in the second half, and he can hold his head up high again.

Our attack looked good in the first half, none existent in the second. Tosun hit the post in the first from a Sandro assist. Sandro definetly gave Marco something to think about (again) with his performance, and Marco seems to like him playing him twice in 48 hours. Looks like he may be second choice RW after Walcott. As for Tosun, I'm concerned he can't hold the ball up. Mirallas could of had 1 goal, 2 assists but was wasteful. He's lost that extra yard of pace he used to have, too. He can't get around the back if his man anymore.

Porto are Portugal's champions. They were at full strength bar Herrera and Danilo. Yet, still, I'm sat here worried by what I've seen. It's Blackburn up next, a match I may actually travel too. Here's to Marco going for it.

Off topic but why is the US drinking age 21 lol? It's 18 here, 16 if you are drinking with a meal, and I can't imagine having only been able to drink when I turn 21 haha.

Spurs will get Grealish for an exorbitant fee and two other mediocre signings that won't play a game in the season. I just can't imagine us signing Pulisic, Martial, Kovacic or any other "high profile" players this year: we can't afford huge wages - and we're doing our best to keep our key players -, we're still paying for the new stadium...

    I'm worried tbh.

Holdover from the 1930s prohibition era/it’s wrapped up in interstate (the national road system) funding (I’m serious, haha). The states have a right to lower it to 18 on their own, but if they do, they lose federal interstate support money.

I did a speech on this in high school, oddly enough.

My first drink was at like sixteen, at a work party. I think it’ll drop here in my lifetime.
