The new 1975 song put me in such a good mood that I listened to Glint again and really felt it. The last half is awesome, George sounds somehow ecstatic and his energy is infectious. Awesome track for sure

They were amazing last night. Seems that George picked up some new dance moves since I saw them last. The lace gloves were a nice touch too

I got unreasonably excited when George posted on Instagram that he got new lace gloves for this tour.

    what a waste of wood

Kinda bummed that they’re in Detroit the same night as MOPOP. One of the best live bands I’ve ever seen. Their energy is infectious.

Something about the physical aesthetic of this album and the fact that they've become some sort of legacy act at this point is making me want to get back into this band. I'd been put off for awhile since Sunbather came out and I had some deep, personal stuff go awry, that, coupled with the massive success the record had, my connection to it and them was kind of lost. Didn't check out the last album, nor have I heard any of this, but for some reason I can't stop thinking about it lol. That said, big fan of black metal, both post- and trad. Hmmm. I guess what I'm asking is, did this album have any sort of revitalizing effect on anyone that may have lost interest prior?? Either way I'm gonna check it out in a bit

  9. This record is incredible, been in heavy rotation the last week

this is absolutely fantastic imo easily on the level of their last two. i thought they'd go more in this direction post sunbather, but i'm so glad they gave us NB before this.

Lots of people at this show look like neo-Nazis.

I liked all 3. Wouldn't listen to drab majesty on my own but they were cool.

A lot of dumb people at the show I went to. Specifically, people fighting to the front who literally didn't move for 6/8 of the songs and booed the ones from OCHL.

At the end of Worthless Animal they yelled "Don't ever play that shit again!" and his friend was like "remember when they were a metal band" so cringe. Also multiple people shout reference a certain awful YouTuber who gave the band mediocre scores like "Tnd was so wrong!" And stuff like that.

I mean with every band that tries to evolve their sound, there's a contingent of fans that resent the new stuff. When the album streamed, the reactions on /r/Metal and /r/Deafheaven were vastly different. I'm sure there are a ton of people who feel like they're not the band they loved on Sunbather and RTJ.

I don't identify with those people.

There's not liking new music, and then there's clawing to the front of a band's show where they are touring the new record, and loudly saying you dislike the new stuff.
