i know people will say either left & leaving or reconstruction site so i'll leave it at that, left & leaving is more punky/emo while reconstruction site is more alt-countryish, i much prefer reconstruction site but aside is like the most influential single song to this scene rn

Yes Emergency & I is a masterpiece I'm with Casey on this everyone listen to those albums if you like this album even a little bit

ppl have talked a lot about Left & Leaving so that's on my "list of things to check out eventually" that i very slowly move through.

really excited to see The Hotelier tomorrow!! it's been too long, and also too long since i've been to Bottom Of The Hill. my fav venue in SF

 

This album is so good. Not as good as Home, but few things are.

Was listening to this on the tube yesterday and an old couple sat next to me and I suddenly realised I could not touch my phone in case they saw the artwork haha. Immediately changed it when I got home to the censored iTunes artwork.

 

I'll be downstairs seeing a friend's show. Had no idea they were playing the same venue the same night until recently. Still thinking about going if there are tickets left.

The Weakerthans is among the best bands in this scene and L&L is the second best album this genre/scene has ever produced

 

Wrote 4,000 words in a lyrical analysis of this, didn't even discuss my favorite line. Oops. Also basically just used it as an excuse to talk about pieces of literature I like a lot but whatever. Coming tomorrow morning

I just couldn't fit the line into the narrative of my review at all
