Well, I can hear Fugazi vibe in "TIny Voices". Also friend of mine, who loves all kinds of HC music from youth crew to NY-style hardcore, said "wow! sounds kinda Quicksand" when I introduced "I Feel So" to him in 2009 :) But yeah, it's just Tom and his namedropping. AVA is not Pink Floyd. BCR's album is not crazy experimental as Fugazi's "Red Medicine". And it's great, because I don't need wanna-be-fugazi tune from pop songwriter.

 

I got a Fugzai vibe on the way the songs were constructed for sure and use of some of the riffs

 

Really can't believe we haven't gotten any updates on a new song being released. This record is finished, I just don't get it. Again, i'm a bit frustrated with this roll out. It's 2016, as much as i love music videos.. Bored to Death music video shouldn't be the thing that holds fans over for the next month.. That video should have been filmed and released on April 28. Plus, it kinda looks like it'll be similar to the WYHSB video, just them playing around, hope i'm wrong though.

Yeah, I couldn't care less about a music video. I want new music!

 

I think they are purposely holding out until July 1 just for "blink-182 Day." The album could have easily been released earlier.

 

I wish I could pay money to listen to it earlier. I'd pay the band $500 right now to send it to me.

 

Lol, us millenials are just too spoiled. Just enjoy what we have and will get...new blink music that's better than anything they've put out since 2003.

I'm getting bored to death of "bored to death." The novelty of a new blink song has worn off. Give me "Rabbit Hole" or give me death!

 

I actually haven't listened to BTD in a while. Just been going through the discog over and over and over haha. Man, this band is great.

 

My hype for this album is starting to die down a little.. we need Rabbit Hole!!!!!!



EDIT: Also.. I've decided I'm gonna stay away from the blink subreddit from now on.

I agree. When "Bored to Death" came out, the hype was so overwhelming. I can't believe they've managed to let it dwindle this much that even this thread has run out of things to talk about.

I said the same thing about "Neighborhoods" and "DED" when they were being released and I was bombarded with irrationally angry people telling me "They're BLINK-182! They don't NEED promotion!". Glad to see people aren't quite that delusional anymore. You can't hold people's attention the same way these days with a few magazine interviews and a music video.

 

I'm curious to know how well the song is doing among radio fans. Like, people who are just hearing Bored To Death for the first time, or even Blink 182 in general. Maybe the hype is still growing around that song among non-super fans. If that makes sense.

 

Yup, it's been very poor managed. Hype is gone for now. And I actually believe there won't be a single in the next two weeks because of this oh so cool music video.

 

I feel like they've been marketing/building up hype for this album in a really old fashioned way. Someone should tell them it's 2016, not 2003.

 

I said the same thing when they were shooting the BTD video instead of something new and most of the responses were that it was normal and expected.

 

Yeah, I just assumed it was doing so well at radio so they are just letting it ride for awhile. I still think they should put out one before their performance Saturday. I'm way more laid back about this than some people though. I still listen to Bored To Death a couple times a day and it hasn't gotten the least bit old for me.

 

Just give me some comfy couches, nice pair of headphones. Maybe a few tapas. And let me listen! They refuse to take my money.

Liking something is different from it being good. You can like it and it can still be terrible music.

 

Song is growing in popularity almost weekly, live TV appearances are starting to ramp up, and more is coming soon .. the hype is very much not gone.

 

DUDE, you were doing good for awhile. I dont see the need to start shit with peoples opinion on music. It's like you come in the thread every so often just to stir up shit.
