Warped Tour 2018: The Final Cross-Country Trek Tour • Page 137

Discussion in 'Tour Forum' started by ALT/MSC/FAN, Mar 1, 2018.

  1. I’m 32. My first Warped Tour was 2001. I went every year until 2008 I think, and then again in 2011 maybe(?) to take my youngest brother for his first time, and I haven’t been back since. The lineup got less and less appealing to me as the years went by.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

    Anyone get Ryan Key’s setlist?

Knocked Loose, Wage War and Silent Planet are like the metalcore bands all the pop-punk kids like and I don't get it

A lot of the big pop punk bands dig Knocked Loose which creates crossover with the pop punk kids, that and Knocked Loose are just really good at what they do. I don't know where you get Wage War from with pop punk kids, they're more a beloved band in the metalcore scene and that's it (maybe the ADTR connection?). And Silent Planet is just full of great people and it's really hard to not like them and the message they send forward.

  6. Counterparts get a lot of hype from pop-punk kids (like me lol). Probably cause the aesthetic and merch is very emo/pop-punk.

Oh anyone going to the Holmdel show know how annoying parking is? Just so I know what to expect

Gave Knocked Loose and Wage War both a cursory listen just now. Two songs each. Neither of them jump out at me as something I go out of my way to listen to normally, but I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t have a fucking blast seeing them live.

  10. I don’t like any of those bands haha

    Empty Apartment
    Ocean Avenue

Pop Punk fans like Metalcore bands with catchy clean choruses. That's nothing new. I was one of them 10-12 years ago.

I was doing it leading up to my date and then I couldn’t attend my date because of medical reasons sooooo I’m probably done at this point. There is no reason anymore

I really wouldn't say Knocked Loose has catchy clean choruses. And even Silent Planet, it's not like they have many clean choruses (at least off the top of my head). Plus Thomas' cleans are for sure not the selling point of Silent Planet. I'll give you Wage War though.

I love Silent Planet's cleans even if they're not typical Metalcore cleans. And yeah, Wage War is one of the best bands of that particular variety to come along in a while.

I was referencing the other two and didn't really think about how different Knocked Loose is lol. They're very good at what they do as well, though.

Does anyone know if Holmdel sell out? I got a low ticket alert Monday and then tried to buy tickets right now and it shows unavailable. Its also not the site being down because it has tickets for other dates available.

Anyone have any thoughts on the VA Beach Venue? Mainly parking and what they allow you to take inside, though stage setup would be good too.

Warped Tour on twitter said Sum 41 is playing a 45 minute set in Toronto. Did any of the other 1 day only guests get 45 minutes?

I think Taking Back Sunday might've been given the option, but they've said that would be against the "Warped Ethos" so....

Every year i've gone whoever was selling them gave them to me for free. It's cool to still have the old ones. I'm a blind person so i can't take pic of schedule and have it be useful. When i get paper schedule i usually find sighted person that's not doing anything and ask them to tell me what it says for the bands i wanna see. Won't have to do that this year since i'm going with a friend but will still get paper schedule just to have since it's the last warped. QUOTE="red8ge, post: 2220648, member: 748"]people still buy the paper schedules? when you have smartphone cameras?[/QUOTE]

    So assuming that this weekend...

Yeah, Taking Back Sunday definitely only played a 30 minute set in Ventura.

The only reason why I can imagine Sum 41 is playing man extended set is because they can’t fit all of “DTLI?” in a half an hour set.

Holmdel does appear to be sold out. Man that’s gonna be a bitch to navigate through. That place is tight as is and isn’t normally sold out. I honestly can’t believe the amount of sold out dates this year. Even knowing this is the last full fledged full traveling tour.

The CD is 31 minutes long so this allows for some talking and playing Fat Lip among others so I'm okay with it. Just thought it was odd. But I'm sure with the longer set they will definitely close out that date so I'm looking forward to it.
