  3. I still can't believe that Bulls team led the league in offense and defense, I doubt we'll see that again.

Be kind; everyone is on their own journey.

Good points...so hard to compare. I guess for me it's more of a #'s thing. Wins and losses in the playoffs don't hold as much weight to me (look at the path the Cavs have taken this year) as I feel that playing better competition and being tested doesn't/shouldn't take away from how good a team really is. It's easy to pick the Bulls as the greatest team regardless of what the Warriors have done this year, because that's how it's been for the last 20 years. I'll never forget that MJ shot over Russell to win as it was the beginning of my obsession with the NBA. This year has been as much fun to watch as any for me, and I CANNOT WAIT FOR THESE FINALS TO START!

in game 7, with the game on the line, right when Curry is about to shoot a 3 for a tie or the win, Verajao shows his true colors and knocks the ball away / knocks Curry down to cost the Warriors the series. he stares down at Curry, who is rightfully in shock at what has happened, then he walks over to LeBron, who is equally shocked and simply says, "I did it for you" and then walks away. near the tunnel he replicates what Bender does at the end of The Breakfast Club, raising one fist to the skyyyyyyy as his (almost) lifelong teammate finally brings a title to Cleveland.

Batum still in with chance of playing at OQT as France announce 17-man preliminary squad

Batum's agent had previously indicated that his client, a free agent who just had a terrific first season with the Charlotte Hornets, would be in the United States resolving his NBA future and that the paperwork would not be finalized in time for him to play.

However, it is understood that the French player and the Hornets will quickly agree terms on a new deal and that could could give France enough time to obtain insurance for Batum and allow him to take part in some of the OQT games.

Feels a little weird pulling for Lebron, but man I hope the Cavs take care of business. I think they have a good shot at it too, if they can steal homecourt who knows what will happen.

These playoffs have been so weird. a lot of blowouts that ultimately didn't matter. With the way things have been shaking out the Warriors could win by 40 in game one and the cavs could just as well take it by 20 the next game. I can't recall so many blowouts from both sides in a post season. that's why I've been hesitant to drop the hot takes that some have been saying in this thread. Feels like people have been quick to say "this series is over" after game 1 when that's certainly not been the case this post season

I had no idea until this week that players not on the final roster of championship teams get a ring. I always assumed it was only players who were signed through the end of the season.

I forget the exact stipulations, but tons of people and players get rings. Andy is in the perfect situation from a purely acquiring a ring standpoint. It's just a matter of which team logo.

  17. Can the Knicks afford two max deals?

Conley, KD, Porzingis would be fun.

I knew like broadcasters and higher level team employees get rings, and I think it's somewhat up to the team (not 100% sure on that though), but as far as players went I didn't know traded/released players ever got any once they were gone.

If afflalo opts out, they trade o Quinn and Calderon maybe. I'm assuming you want Melo to be traded too, then definitely lol

No. They have around $70M in salary and cap holds for next year. With the cap jump they can get one max contract. If they trade Afflalo and Williams to a cap floor team for seconds they could get close. They could also move Robin to create some room. The key to three max contracts is having the player's bird rights.

Watched "Bad Boys" on nbatv finally. interesting how theres almost always that team that you can't beat that makes the best stories in the NBA. Lakers vs. Celtics. Pistons getting passed both Celtics and Lakers. Bulls getting passed the Bad Boys. Dallas had to get revenge from Heat from 06. Kobe's Lakers had to get revenge on the Celtics from 08. San Antonio had to beat Miami the year after. Warriors are definitely that team for the Cavs. That mandatory threshold in order to be an unequivocal part of history because theres always that unknown.

Kind of glad we got warriors now. Unfortunately most of those cases involved with the better teams being older and once they got so old it was a passing of the torch. Don't know how long well have to overcome that barrier if we don't do it this year. Warriors dynasty could last a while.

i'm writing a book, leave me alone.

it fascinates me how there are always these clashes / teams, no matter the sport it seems. i watch way more football than basketball so i'll use teams / rivalries from that sport.

New England vs Indianapolis of the last 10-15 years. 49ers / Cowboys / Packers of the 90's. Oakland and Pittsburgh of the 70's. Denver and Cleveland of the 80's.

I imagine sometimes what it would be like if some of these teams didn't have these obstacles and could just pretty much run free. how many titles would Brady have won with NE getting in his way? Would the 49ers and / or Cowboys have even more rings if it ween't for each other?

for the Warriors, depending how long this run goes for, how many other potentially great / really good teams never get to the promise land / get bounced by the Warriors, rendering them forgotten or nonexistent?

and the question that can never be answered: how many other teams and potential dynasties are ruined because of a great team?

This series could have some pretty big impact on how we look at players. Like what happens if KLove gets toasted on defense and doesn't play crunch time, can you be an elite player and not be trust worthy when it counts?

Also does it affect how we look at Steph if they win and he doesn't win finals MVP? Does he need that to cement himself in that elite company?
