I LOVE this. It's weird poppy Coheed. Who doesn't love weird poppy Coheed!? Also, that last drum groove that Josh comes in with under the electronic part is awesome. My hype level for this album is at 1000%.

 

This is 100% true. I went to see Coheed at the wrecking ball festival in ATL, which is a smaller punk centric festival that Coheed headlined the final night of (Descendents headlined the previous night), and let me tell you, the people that were there for Coheed and Coheed only were the absolute worst.

I like it, but I think I would LOVE it if Claudio wasn't doing weird vocal inflections the whole time. I'm sure it will grow on me a bunch.

 

Holy shit this song is fun, I'm 100% about it. Don't think everyone will be but whatever, I really enjoy it.

While I like the idea of them doing videos based on the concept, it's hard for them not to come across extra cheesy when they don't have a good enough budget. Listening to the podcast now, apparently some people have already heard this album in full. I also had this twitter exchange with Josh earlier:

 

There's good cheese and bad cheese for Coheed. Blood Red Summer, The Suffering all good cheese. Bad cheese Welcome Home and Heavenly Creatures. Their cheese is best served non concept related.

 

Welcome Home is responsible for the greatest thumbnail in all of Youtube

 

I think the problem is that it doesn't go over the top enough. If you're gonna go cheesey the more over the top it is the better imo. In this video they're basically just walking down a hall for most of it.

 

Can we talk about how Marvel saw this as worth exclusively releasing and putting on their homepage? That seems like a good sign, no?
