England minus Kane played pretty terrible football today too

 

Yeah, everything from the equaliser to Sterling going off was pretty much of a muchness. But it's results that count.

Bit unfair. First half particularly, England were passing quick and making chances. If the guys had their shooting boots on, Tunisia would have been buried.

Second half was hard watching, but Tunisia were hardly trying to play football. More concerned with their WWE auditions .

 

Trippier was by far the best player on the pitch today.

 

Loftus-Cheek looked very bright after coming on. Certainly made a case for the next game there.

 

England World Cup songs are my favorite sub-genre of terrible music.

Ah I'm looking forward to some more matches where I don't have to care about England.

 

We played well for the opening 35 or so minutes. We had a pace and intensity no teams other than Spain and Mexico had. We were running beyond the defence, up for tackles and pressing high. Our wingers and forwards were making runs and finding each other with passes and we should have been a few goals up but Lingard can't finish for shit. But overall it was great.

Then we concede a fucking stupid penalty, and all the pace and motivation goes. There was basically no movement or urgency so almost the entire last hour.

We should have had two different penalties and the referee CLEARLY favoured Tunisia. Genuinely seemed to be biased refereeing at points.

Lingard was terrible, as was Alli and Sterling. Next game we next RLC to start over Lingard or Sterling, as he actually played well and was very positive.

Tunisia's play acting and time wasting was embarassing too.

3) IT'S COMIN' HOME LADS YEAH

 

That’s a bit harsh on Dele. He had a great opening 20 mins and then I noticed he came up limping after a play. After that he wasn’t the same.

 

I don’t even think anyone knows at this point. But we tied France’s A team with our C team a week ago, so I’m going with mismanaged cycle over indication of talent. The World Cup has started and it hasn’t sunk in how we didn’t make it. We picked up all six points against Panama iirc.

 

Yeah I'm not having we were terrible at all. We missed about 5 sitters and Tunisia didn't have a shot other than the penalty. Obviously they weren't very good and we SHOULD have beaten them but that's never stopped us fucking it up before.

 

Sometimes I feel like I'm watching a different game than everyone else. Almost all the players that have been singled out for criticism ITT were the ones that I thought gave a good account of themselves, Sterling perhaps being the exception - I watched the game in a Wetherspoons with several hundred people and I must have been the only one not booing him when he was subbed, people just hate him

Next game should be Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire; Trippier, RLC (rest Dele), Dier, Lingard, Rose; Kane, Sterling.

 

I'd go:

-------------Pickford
------Walker - Stones - Maguire
Trippier ---- RLC - Dier ----- Rose
-------Sterling - Kane - Vardy

We do not need to be defensive against Panama. Take the game to them.

 

If you're going to play 3 up front, it's gotta be Rashford on the left. Plays that role much better than Vardy. I otherwise totally agree.
