Yeah I'm pretty sure that his 6 episodes will be split up throughout the season.

 

It will inevitably something stupid like one of the episodes will end on a cliffhanger involving a life/death situation with Rick and then we don't see a follow-up episode to address it for 7 weeks. Fuck this show.

 

Rick and Maggie better live and just walk away instead of dying or I'm going to be severely disappointed.

 

Yeah if I had to guess, they won’t kill him off, rather they’ll just shift the focus onto whoever and probably get him to do some guest appearances here or there in the future.

 

They will probably just have him crawl under a dumpster

 

He'll just go away and come back later as a whisperer (or get killed by a whisperer)

 

Yeah, I'm not sold on the idea of them killing him off. If anything I think he'd be banished from Hilltop, or leave on his own accord because they no longer see eye-to-eye.

 

Right. He'll go back to 'rebuild' Alexandria and they'll mention 'trading' with the Alexandrians and Rick here and there..

The only problem with this theory is what it means for Michonne. They're not gonna write her out, so they'd either have to blow up the relationship or have her inexplicably be in Hilltop more often despite being on Rick's side.

Honestly it'd just be weird having the main character of the first 8 seasons just going away to never be seen again.

See, if he’s leaving they should’ve just tried to keep it a secret and then killed him off. Similar to some of the recent deaths on Fear. It would have been genuinely shocking

 

Keeping it secret was the last chance for the show to do something right lol

It's amazing how clueless these showrunners have been

 

Please, it would have leaked sooner than later and it wouldn't change a thing.

To get more people to view the first half of the season, which Rick will be in. They probably think more people will tune in to see the last episodes with Rick.

 

I'd be shocked if they properly had Rick go out quick. Fully expect them to be assholes and stretch his 6 episodes out like they do every other aspect of this show. Unless I missed some info that he'll be gone in the first half

 

According to filming spoilers he’s already filmed for the first 4 episodes I think. That leaves 2 left and I doubt they’ll stretch the remaining 2 out to the end of the season.
