Personally find it cool to dislike it. Many of my friends don't like it and have discussed why. The only reason that one dude got so many people quoting him was he was belittling something many people find important and being weird about it. What don't you like about it though, I'm curious.

 

What exactly is important about it?

 

I'll bully you about it if you want.

But seriously if I get not liking it. My first listen was very meh and it grew on me. I could still do without the spoken word/interlude tracks. I feel like the rest of the band could too reading the stereogum article.

 

I think it's important for that genre and the band themselves are important for said genre during it's maturation process. They really push forward the right conversation.

The music itself I find very poetic and personal to myself and where I am at in life as I continue to grow and change. That of course doesn't speak for everyone and is in no way eloquent at all but that's my feeling on it.

To come and say "I dont think this band is important" is silly imo. You can not like them and they can do nothing for you, but I don't think you can reasonably deny their current influence and the effect they have had on many people's lives.

There music always has this sense of urgency in it like there is some important message, but for the life of me I can't really find it. I do really enjoy Home Like No Place, but that took a while. Christian has a good ear for melody which I enjoy but I really have no idea what he's talking about mostly.

I don't know either with whether or not to tell your friends. I don't think they would be mad if you didn't because everyone needs time to grieve in their own way. It's really 100% up to you whether you do or not.

 

That band sucks.

 

I don't like a lot of ap beloved bands and nobody has ever cared or said anything about it lol. I like to think it's cause I'm lovable and endearing

I don't know @Kiana. I feel like the only artist I know you like is Christina Aguleira and very few people would want to shit on her because she's talented or something.

But for real the real reason ppl prob don't say anything is they either come to expect my bad taste or none of the comments I make are interesting enough to respond to ha. Maybe I should start upping my edge
