Had my craziest quest yet on SoD2. Had to go approach this community to see how they were doing and my first ever juggernaut spawns and basically wipes out a couple of them.

I was trying to help one of them as a zombie was fighting them but in the process ended up killing the person so the whole group turned hostile...

They kill the juggernaut and I killed the last two of the group and left with five rucksacks filled with stuff my base needed. What a ride.

 

now I feel like I got to play more just to keep up with you.

 

Tbh I’ll be playing on your host so I’ll only be far ahead characters wise

 

can play tomorrow since I got off work early.

 

took off tomorrow for the long weekend and will be on pretty much all day. somehow I’ve sunk 16 hours into the game already!

I disagree. I find it incredibly upsetting. The idea that this is my community makes me furious.

 

It makes me very glad that I prefer single player games

i only knew him from his wow videos from the cataclysm era but knew he's been sick for years, that's horribly sad

 

Hopefully it doesn't release right next to BFV and CoD so people will actually buy it.

A few years ago I'd watch his channel regularly and i'd joke about his videos w/ my now ex.

He was one of the few people at the time who I watched in regards to gaming, and I appreciated his snark.

I told my Mum about him, even.

TBH I think EA put TF2 out so close to COD and BF1 in order to sink Respawns value & to decrease the cost of buying them in the long run. :(

That's really fucking awful to hear. He fought like hell for a really long time.

He was the first youtuber that I watched and the only for a really long time before I found others I enjoyed like Sterling and Angry Joe. We literally almost never agreed on our tastes in games, and I'm not a PC player while his videos were very focused on PC and things like diving deep into the options menu, but I still watched his videos despite all of that because he was so fucking charming and seemed like a genuinely good person. He was much more of an entertainer than his peers.

 

Can we just talk about how awful most gaming websites are? The four I go to are IGN, Destructoid, Polygon and Kotaku and all of them are shit in completely different ways.

Anyone have one that they go to that does suck?

 

his style and focus of critiques never really gelled with me, but that's too damn young. his influence has already been and will certainly continue to be felt on youtube.

 

unfortunately, i don't really find any site that focuses on games the way i find interesting - critiquing and unpacking them as cultural artifacts and narrative-mechanical exchange systems rather than, well, game news and reviews. kotaku helps by not explicitly scoring their reviews and rockpapershotgun and pcgamer usually have at least decent perspective. chris's horror quest was also a community where i spent a ton of time when i was younger, but he mostly focuses on dev now rather than completing his goal of playing every non-pc survival horror game lol. but he had some pretty great thoughts on games. kill screen used to be pretty good, but then they folded because they didn't pay their writers. anyway. kinda depends on what you're looking for. can you clarify?

I hope we don't forget about his behavior during GG and general asshattery on Twitter.

But it is a sad thing and I feel awful for his family.

 

I usually get my news from here, but open up Kotaku and Polygon when I have nothing going on. Their content has moved a lot away from news and reviews and more into highlight clips and Fortnite news. Whatever gets the clicks.

I mostly just follow a few youtubers for reviews and what not. Jim Sterling and ACG are my go-to's. I miss Steve and Larson and ProJared. Their stuff was usually a lot of fun.
