I do agree with this. I was hoping the Pistons would win one of those games just so it continued. Unfortunately, instead we got seven games of Toronto/Indiana and then Toronto/Miami (which might be the worst series to ever go seven games).

Van Gundy is a great color guy. I'm hoping he never goes back to coaching because of this.

Holy shit....haha, i'm kind of rooting for the Cavs at this point, and i've always hated them.

Ouy, started a new job and have been too busy to really post on here much but today I was trying to talk hoops with some co-workers and it just instantly became a pissing contest rather than a discussion like the fun ones I usually have on here. Do any of you guys have the same problem? I feel like I can't talk sports with a lot of people in my life because they immediately think they are on First Take and want to turn it into a debate. So annoying.

I only have one friend outside this site who actively watches sports, outside of that its really a crapshoot.

I always find it entertaining simply because it's so obvious they're not even real fans watching the game. They're just getting the highlights and spewing it back as a conversation piece

Always find it hilarious. My boss does it all the time where he'll try to talk about basketball and just fall flat on his face every time. Was talking to one of the co owners of the Sixers about MCW like he was still on the team just the other week

It's so brutal when they fall flat on their face. I don't enjoy dicing someone up with the facts anymore. I did when I was younger but now I just bite my tongue. I just wanna have a nice chat man. That's all.

Completely agree. It's frustrating because it's not about being "right" or just clearly having an agenda and being against a player no matter what. It feels like not many people actually want to break down the games and discuss what's happening and why.

I usually talk sports with my dad. He's super knowledgable about everything and he's fun to talk to about whatever sport. Other than that I have a bunch of friends that I talk to about hockey, a few for football, maybe 2 for baseball and basically none for basketball.

Everyone at work and friends is into football. And knowledgeable.
And then I'm talk to a fair few about basketball, MMA

Got a few friends into soccer and horse racing. But I can't stand either of those

I've got a lot of friends and coworkers who watch basketball so I can usually find someone to talk NBA with. Guess I'm lucky in that way.

A few people in my office really like sports but mostly just their specific teams. I can't have like a Zach Lowe analytics conversation with anyone though lol

Being near Cleveland everyone is a basketball fan now. Only a handful of people at my work actually get really involved in the NBA. My favorite sports talks are arguing with my dad.

Obviously it's gonna subconsciously happen in the judges minds anyway but do they count any of previous years playoffs when voting on end of year awards.
It's almost a shame that all these are given with almost 1/3 of the season discounted.
You've got people like Steve Kerr getting coach of the year when he possibly could be eliminated today and in hindsight Walton doing the best things in their 2015-16 season (although if counting last playoffs he deserves it)

I guess the recognition comes if you win a ring for post season. And isn't fair on players not competing in playoffs that not given an opppuritinity to showcase their cause for awards. But that's life I guess

Sorry about the rant. Has just been weighing on me

i know this isn't playoff related, but why do nba teams hire the same guys over and over again? The Rockets are signing D'Antoni, so this will be his 4th team in 8 years. Like damn.
