Five? I've heard three I think. 1933, MAGA and Blackout. What are the other two?

Oh. There She Is. I forgot about that one.

    It was dull.

Damn didn't even realize this was coming out Friday lol

Not expecting much but hopefully it's decent. Also hoping he doesn't load the setlist with new stuff since I haven't seen him in a few years

I can't believe I'm this apathetic about a new Frank Turner album.

Yeah the way I keep telling myself is this: this will be his 7th album and overall he has pumped out 6 albums I've heavily enjoyed. POTD and SIFTW aren't masterpieces but there is enough material on there for me to enjoy. So if his 7th album, an album bashing Trump, is his worst output I guess I will be okay with that since he's really nailed his last few albums.

I enjoy Blackout, 1933, and Be More Kind, but they didn't blow me away like Get Better and The Next Storm did. Either way I'm seeing him three times in June and even if this album flops I'll still be very excited to see him again.

Wrecked 'em? Damn near killed 'em!

I’ve enjoyed pretty much everything released so far except There She Is. Like @Donnie Ruth said, nothing has hit me like Get Better or The Next Storm did, but I’m still eager to hear this as a whole. But yeah the general hype leading up to this album seems quite lower than Positive Songs. I’m sure that regardless of how it turns out, he’ll still put on a quality show and these songs will translate well live.

He’s premiering another track tonight too. 6 songs before an album is wild.

  11. Stylistically, I'd say it's closest to Tape Deck Heart. It's definitely his poppiest next to that. And it's pretty subdued, lots of acoustic guitars in the vein of the title track and "There She Is," which is a little confusing because the press release referred to the album being "more rock-oriented" than PSFNP and incorporating electro-pop, which I only noticed in a few small places. "Blackout" is a decent indicator.

Quality-wise, I'd also say it's close to Tape Deck Heart (at least in my ranking - and keep in mind, PSFNP is my favorite of his). It's middle of the pack, but it's a good album. I don't want to say much more than that yet, and I DON'T want to bring anybody's excitement down, because it's a fine album.

I think so. But I also enjoyed three of the five pre-release tracks ("1933," "Be More Kind," and "There She Is")

Interesting tid bits! It'll be interesting because There She Is was my least favorite of the previously released and Blackout was my favorite. I also have not listened to any of them in some time to preserve the freshness of the album so maybe my opinion of There She Is may change!

Now I'm suddenly excited again. TDH is my joint favourite of his, love everything about that record. I wasn't getting the impression that this one would be anything like that, especially after PS4NP and the few songs released so far that I listened to.

Music, a steady riot in my soul. Prestigious

  16. Far and away my least favorite (although I do like the strings throughout the album).

I hope MAGA will be my least favourite because I really don't like it

Make America Great Again is an example of a person or group trying to take back a term or phrase and put their spin on it. I think it’s an interesting idea to have an alternate to Trump use of the term. I like it enough.

But he addresses that in the song. He’s also speaking to the people for the sake of people. Most bands and singers don’t address nationality, but he does. He’s not trying to trick you into thinking he’s from anywhere but England.

I don’t think this really matters. Frank’s been rather transparent about that in all his interviews. He’s not trying to fool anyone.

Little Changes is another song that's not bad but not very good either.

As much as I appreciate when bands get political and understand why they do in times like these, I have a hard time enjoying it.

Listened to "Little Changes" yesterday and thought it was fine. Didn't blow me away, but I liked it. Felt like a "filler" song.
