Spending some time in Scotland must have evened it out.

Yeah but I think it's a bit more ridiculous as a long cliff hanger that acts like it's supposed to have a ton of suspense for the audience between now and then when it really isn't. The better cliff hanger for me would be "holy shit. Thanos did it. I wonder who the fuck died and can't wait to see the outcome". Idk. That's just me. It just doesn't have as much weight to end the movie the way they did.

I feel like she abandoned it in Civil War

They getting trapped would work better for me personally, I just feel like all the weight the rest of the movie built on was misspent at the end. That post credits scene was nuts though

Yeah, I think that's the bad kind of cliffhanger. I would have been so unsatisfied with that. I don't think this leaves most people with suspense or worry about these characters being dead for good but I'm definitely excited to see how they deal with this and what they have to do to bring them back.

I don’t think so. I remember she had it when Vision was making her that chicken paprikash.

Probably sent to another dimension or something. Perhaps being killed by the infinity stones instead of a natural death could send them to some sort of purgatory.

How much can accents change in two years? Serious question because I don’t know but that could be what she was aiming for.

Would dogs and cats be part of the living inhabitants of the universe that get erased? :/

Yeah the situations are in no way comparable. The world wasn’t literally ending in Homecoming, he felt like he needed do his part in this one. Also Tony doesn’t dub him an Avenger until after they’re on Titan, and even then I took it in the moment as him saying “like it or not, you’re an Avenger now because there’s no turning back.” He wasn’t trying to become an Avenger, so it doesn’t contradict or diminish his arc in Homecoming at all.

Yeah, I agree with this. It was only Tony, Peter, and Strange so he was basically giving him the title of an Avenger due to the lack of numbers.

Heard it a couple of times and not the others, never should’ve had her have one.

I fucking loved this. My only complaint being obviously all the deaths will be reversed. I really want this series to start having higher stakes, and this movie did do a good job showing that it can. Though I know Spidey and T’challa aren’t dead lol.

The rocket line about getting Bucky’s arm had me dying.

Also that Starbucks line was so awkward wow

This was cool, waaaay better than Ultron and I'm very excited for part 4. However I felt a lot of the impact of the ending was taken away by the fact that we can be pretty sure it won't be permanent. Sure, it's pretty upsetting to watch Peter die in Tony's arms, but we know there's a Spiderman sequel scheduled for two months after A4, so...

EDIT: Catching up on the thread, I can see that I'm not alone

Honestly I’m of the opinion that knowing they’re all coming back doesn’t take away from anything. We still don’t know who of the people left will survive the next one, even if we know they’ll ultimately beat Thanos and reverse most of what he did. But we always knew they’d beat Thanos in the end, because of course they will. Just like we knew they’d beat Loki in Avengers 1 or Ultron in Avengers 2. It’s a mainstream blockbuster, it’s going to have at least somewhat of a happy ending when all is said and done. I don’t know, just seems like of all things that isn’t really the thing I was expecting people to dislike about this.

I'm in a weird spot where I also want there to be high stakes and death should be permanent and no cop out resurrections BUT on the other hand I really want Gamora to come back and be in Guardians 3, but doing so will also bother me. Kind of can't win in that case.
