I just looked it up and yea I see what you're talking about....I heard that theory on A Cast of Kings Podcast regarding the last episode. Anyone listen to that? The female host seems to have a huge problem with the sexuality of the show, the women sexuality in particular; why watch it then? She's a book reader first, so I'm surprised she brought this up.

Well, shit.

I guess it doesn't really make any sense that the Raven is Bran, because there doesn't seem to be any overall time loop going on. If he was the Raven, that would mean he'd grow old an see himself coming back again, and so on.

 

I heard a theory that Bran could be "Bran the Builder" who built the Wall and Winterfell and was the founder of House Stark. Sounds bullshit to me but it's fun to think about.

 

I mean, she can certainly speak up about any problems she has with the show's portrayal of women and their sexuality. I think she's earned that right as a woman.

 

Who was it at House Stark that all of the Brans in history seem to be as one in her memory? There was Bran the Builder and Bran The Breaker, and probably more, right? I think it's fascinating and would be downright hilarious to find out the Bran has been unknowingly wreaking havoc thus cementing the world he is currently living in.

 

Keep in mind that Greensight used to be more common and those with the gift can see others with the gift so it's actually not that crazy. What if the Mad King had it and Bran is what drove him insane?

 

It's pretty goddamn obvious Bran's actions are going to have HUGE implications. It's interesting but at the same time I don't like knowing that it's possible EVERYTHING has been predetermined by Bran.

 

If that's the case I think that would be pretty disappointing.

 

What if Bran is just a kid playing with his Lego set at the end?

The fact that we now know Bran can legitimately effect the past/present scares me. I have a feeling there are going to be moments of Bran having visions and we're wondering what he's doing, then all of a sudden BAM, we're shown he turned the king Mad and was the reason Jamie killed him bla bla bla.

 

I love that throughout most of the first season it was just medieval drama with no supernatural or extra-normal elements at all, but then slowly introduced dragons, then magic, then zombies, to now we have time travel lol. It'd be hilarious if aliens showed up next.

 

Can we go a single page in this thread without someone mentioning that they think Bran, and not years of incest and inbreeding, caused the Mad King to go mad?

And it was done in pretty much the only way it could be pulled-off without feeling incredibly cheap and like a cop-out. By building an immense history to the current GoT events and explaining how/why a lot of "old magic" was lost, we're getting to see a fairly plausible and logical re-discovery of the old arts.

 

Nah, before you know it we'll have the realization that this takes place in the future.

 

They still have a healthy functioning environment so I'm pretty sure they can't be on EARTH in the future!

 

Maybe the "first men" were people like you and me, and the trees got so tired of being tortured and killed that they spawned the Children of The Forrest...a literal way of Mother Earth to fight back. Then with us (humans) winning, they created the Wight Walkers and essentially wiped out humanity and thousands of years passed by with only small pockets of humanity surviving.

So basically the entire Song of Ice and Fire is just GRRM's feelings towards global warming.

But yea, the time travel stuff worries me and it doesn't seem to fit what so ever.
