I can relate @Jason Tate -- I have a few Miller Lites left after having people over last Friday, and also a Sunday Morning Stout I'm saving for Thursday. It's taking everything in me to not pop that one open.

  2. Has anyone tried the Hanson beer, MmmHops? I've been dying to try it, but Utah sucks.

I have. It's OK, but not great, and it's generally overpriced because of the novelty. I wouldn't go out of my way looking for it.

  4. That's about what I figured. If I'm ever some place that carries it, I'll definitely get one. But yeah, I'm not going to go too out of my way to snag one.

I previously have had the Fruitlands Cherry and loved it, so there is no doubt this will go over well with my tastebuds as well

  6. Also, does anyone else get massive headaches from drinking beer? Basically any beer I drink ends up killing me if I don't take advil before or right after drinking. I haven't been diagnosed with a gluten intolerance, but I assume it's probably that. I've tried gluten free beers, but they're more expensive and not as yummy, but I do get less of a headache. Does anyone else have this problem and/or found a good beer that doesn't beat you up afterwards? Unfortunately, I'm stubborn, and I still drink beer more than hard alcohol. But the headaches are definitely annoying...

  7. the cherry one is great! i'll have to give this one a go. let us know how it is.

I'd venture to guess it changes per person, but I only ever get headaches when drinking if I mix alcohols. Light & dark hard alcohol, wine and beer, etc etc. But I'm just really not prone to headaches or hangovers in general, so I might be the anomaly. Short answer: Beer does not give me headaches.

Is it the same if you drink something like Bud, Miller, or Coors, or only when you drink craft beer? A lot of craft beers tend to be unfiltered (even if they don't say so) or less filtered, so it could be some of the particulate that's left behind.

I love Sucks and Brown Shugga.

Sucks is great, especially since it comes in those giant 32 oz. bottles. And Brown Shugga is even better after it's aged a year.

I still gotta get on those two, the story alone makes me want to try them

  14. Pretty much all of it gives me a headache almost certainly. I drink a lot of Blue Moon and Shock Top.

Agreed on the age. I usually break out the previous year's stash whenever a new batch comes along.

The story is fun, and the beer is great. Last year my dad and I decided to do Gnarleywine, Brown Shugga, and Sucks side-by-side-by-side to kind of go through the evolution. It was fun and delicious.

okay here is a question because y'all seem much more knowledgeable than i am: i am a big fan of fruit beers (soft parade, in particular.) what are similar brands that you guys like? i'm trying to branch out. (also soft parade is like $12 for a 6 pack and i am usually too cheap to shell out)

You might like the stuff The Traveler Beer Company puts out. Also anything that's considered a radler/shandy is usually something light with a good amount of fruit flavor. But if you want something a little different with some fruit taste and is more similar to wine I'd recommend Sixty-One | Dogfish Head Craft Brewed Ales

maybe someone can help me now.

I recently had a trippel aged in red wine casks. the pairing of the red wine flavor really set me off. I need more

anyone know of anymore red wine aged or tasting trippels, dubbels, pils, blondes, or ipas that are readily available to buy a six of? I listed styles in order of interest

or maybe something else you think I would like. my knowledge of beer is decent but I struggle to keep up with breweries and brews

Not much use in helping, but I have a 1500ml bottle of this sitting in my garage waiting to be opened on a special occasion.
