Eh, I mean if publishers are asking him the questions, the guy has every right to give them honest answers about how he feels. It's a little annoying because it feeds the trolls, but at this point, I've drowned that noise out.

I do like that deleted scene and I think it would have added to the film, but it's not vital. I think Luke's "where's Han?" line gets the same point across for his character. It changes more for Leia than Luke with the way it cuts to her after.

I disagree. I think it’s adds a lot to the guilt he feels that his actions manifested into the death of one of his best friends. I personally think it wouldve added a lot but idk how they would’ve fit it in.

The way it was cut. It was where’s Han. Then Kylos whole throne room confront with snoke/elevator tantrum. Then back to rey, luke, and chewy talking about kylo. In context of that scene it doesn’t fit. I think it would’ve been perfect to add right before he leaves his hut to go on the falcon. I don’t think walking around on the ship really has the same level of guilt/pain that that scene showed.

Just me tho. In my head cannon that’s the way it went down

After reading the novel, I think the movie is even better with a lot of the extra insights and story beats. The prologue alone with Luke’s dream really adds to his arc.

I havent read the book yet but I heard the one big thing that I wanted after watching the movie where Rey thinks about killing Kylo while hes passed out is in there and Im so fucking excited to read it. Without spoiling any of her thoughts or anything, what did you think of that moment?

That moment is really in the book? That’s dumb. If we are going to count the books into how characters are thinking.... that ALREADY happened in the TFA novel.

Yeah I mean the whole book as canon thing hasnt been done well. I mean Poe already met Rey in TFA novel. I didnt read TFA novel so I cant speak to the differences between that and TLJ but I thought I heard it was more Snoke telling her to kill him and less her wanting to. I imagine this situation would be so different now that she thinks he was going to turn and mad at Luke for even thinking about killing him in the hut.

It’s really cool. The best part is they talk about her and Kylo reflecting on that fact. My favorite part was all other canon connections and the extra backstory with Snoke that goes with those connections.

Finished the novelization. It somehow even further enhanced Luke's character arc and the whole Rey/Luke/Kylo storyline, which I still say was done about as perfect as could be in the film. I was hoping to get a little more out of Canto Bight and the Poe/Holdo dynamic, but not much changed there. Though, Rose's speech to Finn at the end does feel a little more natural with a little more insight into her thoughts throughout the story.

It's pretty interesting going back to first reactions in this thread, still feel as strong about this as I did back then.

I'd say it's still top three Star Wars for me. It's funny, things like the execution of Canto Bight annoy me when I sit down and think too much about it, but when I'm actually watching the movie all I can think is "why did I so worked up about this scene in my head? I'm enjoying this." haha.

I unabashedly have a soft spot for the prequels, I watched them so much as a kid and so that scene brought back the good memories of the prequels and I haven't rewatched them in a while to remember all the bad parts lol.

So Im kind of embarrassed but how do I get to the special features (deleted scenes / The Director and the Jedi) on the Blu-Ray? The only options on the menu are Play / Audio Commentary / Scenes / Set Up. Disclaimer Im not old, I just dont get physical copies a lot lol
