With the music industry making less money, but technology making things cheaper per say, bands can make things a part time job, or profitable hobby. If Christian’s a teacher, getting time off to tour may not be easy (accept maybe summer).

I think this albums a big step up, I think you’ll enjoy the long song forms and how dark some of the riffs are

I think that's my favorite of the B-Sides, so damn good, it's an understated song, but that chorus is beautiful. Sitting down and listening to this with the lyrics is a great experience. I'm like 6 times through the whole album and I truly think this is their best.

I wasn’t as big of a fan as you were so take this as an outside perspective. I think this is their best by miles and miles. I think the first ep and lp are really close with song writing but this album combines song writing with great production.

I also feel like this is their most cohesive record yet. All the songs feel like they fit together as part of a whole, there are parts of Varuna that always felt a little out of place to me, where this record, even the 13 song version, feels like every song has a distinct purpose in realizing a final thought.

Yeah, I agree even being a huge fan, I for example really thought The Cartographer EP was lacking, I think I really liked maybe 3 songs on there and what you say about Varuna hold true, sometimes it felt like 2 distinct albums rolled into one. Songs like "Pitch and Resin", "Tanzih", "Grounded I am Traveling Light", felt like they belonged on a different album.

They just finally hit everything on this. I mean when I think of my favorite bands and think of their albums where I felt they finally did it, this one is definitely on there. Thrice for me was "Vheissu", Moving Mountains with their self-titled, Turnover with "Peripheral Vision", Brand New with "Devil and God", and so on.

Yea! And just consistency going through the tracklist I think 12 of the 13 songs are incredible with one of them just being really good. The 10 song album works so well tho bc it’s 10 amazing songs. I’m ready for this band to blow up, it with just a matter of getting the album out there. Wonder who is reviewing the records tor this site?

I gotta say I love this band and all their albums but oarsman is leagues above any of their other stuff. Not a knock on them but that song is untouchable imo

I don't think I can listen to this without the B-Sides, I love "(Amaterasu)" too much haha

I like how they changed the outros of some of the songs that lead into the b sides so that no matter what version you listen to it sounds like it belongs and keeps the great flow the album has

Me neither it just flows so well with them and imo doesnt feel too long. I also love that they are integrated in the tracklisting so seamlessly. As far as im concerned the extended is the way to go. Will still listen without them but starting to like them so much that it will be too tough not to listen with them from now on.

Oh shit yeah thats fucking neat. Ive yet to play it as a 10 track album and was very curious about that since it flows so well with the bsides. Makes sense now.

Those songs added something to Varuna to me. It can’t all be doom and gloom. Yeah, You Missed The Point and Traveling Light are more upbeat, but that sets up Now Matter How Narrow. Pitch and Resin sets up Cartographer. Maybe that’s me.

All the songs that are named are my favorite songs off of Vaurna, don't get me wrong, but I definitely think they could have been on 2 different albums, not that I have a problem with them being on the same one. I've always liked the softer side of TROW more than the dark and gloomy nature, but I think this album melds both really well.
