I’m fine. I’m just very tired of feeling guilty and reading posts that make it seem like I’ve ruined people’s favorite band that saved their lives because I write what I think about their music. It’s not worth it. Enjoy your thread.

 

I already said that I don’t believe you’re ruining anything and that you’re free to dislike them, but others are also free to say it’s hard seeing something they love getting torn to shreds (The Last Jedi for example). There’s really no need to take your ball and go home for no real reason.

Gotcha. That is the kind of thing that can only come from experience with that happening, but I hope you know you haven't ruined the band for me. I really do just like the discussion.

 

My favorite band in the world is Jimmy Eat World and I’ve praised Fall Out Boy and Blink-182 for like two decades, I’m more than ok with seeing something I love get torn to shreds, I'm quite used to it, by the vast majority of the internet. I mean, hell I’ve praised The 1975 for what, 5 years now, and took all kinds of shit for it. People not liking what I like I consider usually the default position by the masses, it’s why I started a website to talk about what I like and don’t like because I didn’t see many people writing about the stuff I liked. Let alone with the kind of praise I thought it deserved. Personally, I thin it’s cool when the bands everyone talks shit about to me end up getting popular and seeing critical and commercial success. The 1975 blowing the fuck up has been awesome to watch.

I hope The Wonder Years see the same kinda success for everyone that loves them and they can say, “see I told you so!” I just am tired of being in the narrative and feeling like I have to watch everything I say about that band because anything I write causes a negative reaction and I just don’t wanna do it anymore. I don’t wanna argue about it, I don’t wanna argue about them, and I don’t wanna feel like I’m causing the kinda negative emotions you described in the Q&A thread reading what I write. Others agreed with you, the likes and the posts, and that's enough for me to just realize it doesn't make me feel good, so I'd rather just remove myself from it and not be part of this shit anymore.

I spent the day with my family, my day's been great. I'm totally fine. Just catching up on responding to my notifications.
