Still feel like the drums at the end of Goodness 2 are so pointless, haha.

Think I said this a while ago but the first one (not the intro) really reminds me of Mount Eerie.

I always thought it was either literally about animal abuse (based off a tweet they once made about animal abuse...), an abusive relationship (the obvious meaning), or, like, BDSM sex.

And Life in Drag isn't about gender identity. That's strange too.

yeah that was strange too. He went deeper into the meanings behind the songs on Home than I've ever heard before.

At one point, the album was going to be a joint release between Tiny Engines and Collect Records, the label run by Thursday/United Nations/No Devotion frontman Geoff Rickly. The band and Rickly talked for a year after meeting at Florida DIY festival The Fest and eventually worked out a deal. But after news broke last fall that the label’s silent investor, hedge fund manager and former CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals Martin Shkreli was jacking up the prices of a drug prescribed to patients suffering from AIDS, the band asked to be let out of their contract, as neither they nor Tiny Engines wanted any association with anything Shkreli had been involved with.

    whoa

I always assumed Life in Drag was about hypermasculinity and gender roles.

Ughhh this album is just way too good already. Fuck. I've managed to restrain myself from listening to Piano Player and Soft Animal enough that they still feel like part of the album rather than separate, I tend to run singles into the ground then forget they're part of the album hah. So glad that hasn't happened for this, so so grateful

I guess nows a good time for me to admit that I'm not too into the interludes. They work for what they are but I'd rather just move on to the next song. Again, I like them enough but the songs themselves are just so good.

  25. They were offered a lot of money too, and walked away from it ... from what I had heard back when that happened.
