Set Your Goals Band

Surprised there wasn't a thread for these guys already. According to Mike Ambrose's Instagram they're about to start writing a new record.

 

Nice, I didn't know new music was in the works.

 

Unfortunately I'm not sure these guys will get a lot of traction with a new one, the generation of fans for bands like Knuckle Puck, State Champs, Real Friends have probably never delved into Mutiny or This Will Be The Death Of Us which is a shame.

 

Glad to hear they're finally recording! I'm looking forward to seeing them live again, their shows are always a ton of fun. I missed the Mutiny tour because I was in the process of moving across the country and I'm still a little bummed about it.

 

Do you think this will be released through Epitaph? I have no clue what their contract detailed. I could see them joining Pure Noise, assuming they're still close with TSSF. A tour with them or State Champs could give them a lot of exposure to newer fans.

 

Oh man, I love this band.

Been listening to Burning at Both Ends recently more than anything from them. I think its such a fun album. Thought they killed at Warped Tour this past summer when they played Mutiny front to back. Man, that was awesome to see.

Very excited to see what they do next.

 

I think BABE is horrible. One or two good songs and that's it.

 

Whats new with these dudes?

I've been jamming hardcore to Burning at Both Ends. Didn't care for it when it first came out, but I started loving it a couple years after the release. Its a fun summer album.

Burning At Both Ends is an album I always go back to. I understand the hate it gets but damn....it’s so fun and puts me in a great mood!

 

Man I still can't get through that album. Definitely some songs I love though

TWBTDOU is still a really good album, IMO it might be even better now than it was when it was released

 

Talked to Matt last night at the Touche Amore / Turnstile show in Brooklyn. Really nice guy.

Didn't seem from his comments that there'd be anything SYG related coming anytime soon.

 

How sad. I thought they were making new music haha.

I really hope they play some other shows soon too.

 

Not As Bad is my favorite closer of theirs and London Heathrow is a JAM.

Listened to Mutiny! for the first time in years and it brought me back to my early days of going to (smaller) shows in the Bay Area. Haven't checked out anything else from them but now I'll be sure to give their other albums a listen.
