That's awesome that you got to play Che! But I think it's fairly obvious why it's always in danger of shutting down - it's a student run and funded commune and it looks like one! Still, impressed at some of the touring acts they're able to book (I recall seeing Turnover and Touche Amore on the lineup). Plus I got to see Weatherbox's final show there, which was a highlight of my life!

And, from what I'm hearing, it sounds like your Observatory is better than the OC Observatory, which sucks ass! (And which I will detail in the thread proper!)

I actually just started playing in a new project and might get back into gigging. When I was playing shows it was with a band called Dukes On The Rush. We broke up about 5 years ago.

 

NFG just announced a benefit show for Parkland. Apparently half the band attended MSD High School there.

Ill add Bovine Sex Club to this list. Super cool punk aesthetic with bicycles and shopping carts and shit welded to the front of the building. Maybe 100 cap as well but its the most common venue for small punk bands playing in town. Also cheap beers and friendly staff with a bunch of pinball machines in the back. I've since PKEW PKEW PKEW, Junior Battles, Deforesters, Riptides, Direct Hit!, Brutal Youth there to name a few.

Sevendust/Memphis May Fire is an interesting bill

 

That’s super awesome that NFG is doing something like that. Also that whitechapel tour looks insane!

 

Considering the direction MMF is going and the fanbase they want, direct support to Sevendust seems like a good idea for them.

 

I feel like Sevendust/MMF also has something to do with the fact that they're both on Rise.

 

I'm super stoked on Whitechapel playing This is Exile. That album is by far their best. I haven't had much interest to see Whitechapel in the past few years but will definitely go out this time. Nightbringers by TBDM is really solid too so that should be cool.

I'm really hoping it mellows out again after the lineup is announced. Because right now it's just a bunch of newbie accounts that posting unfunny memes.

 

That Fort Wayne date is a festival and The Word Alive is on that as well.
