To my knowledge, WhatsApp only saves messages if you choose to keep them backed up. If you don't have that setting picked, I'm not sure if those messages stay stored somewhere or not.

sounds like in general a bad and unhealthy relationship for them both

about the sort of thing that probably shouldn't be aired out in public

  9. This exactly. I’m not even a Remo Drive fan but this just doesn’t seem like it belongs in the same category as stuff like Brand New or Moose Blood. It seems like an unhealthy relationship gone public.

Not sure if it's totally related to this thread but apparently at the Jawbreaker show tonight the lead singer called out Jesse Lacey. Saw that on twitter so not sure exactly what was said.

The remo drive thing does seem really shitty both ends- i just wonder if it will affect their tour with sorority noise coming up.

It's real, and it's even better than you thought. That was just before they played Accident Prone, a song that JL covered a lot. Great stuff. Get your song back, Blake.

glad blake said that. the way taking back sunday has reacted to it, dating back to eddie in the original fb post where it came out about jesse, is really fucking strange and a bad look.

  16. What did he say on the original post?

How else are they supposed to respond? Adam called him a shitty person and got handled over it. I can only imagine the backlash that would have ensued had he shed light on this (assuming he knew or had heard whispers.)

eddie put a smiley emoji in a thread right after a post where a woman gave a pretty harrowing account of sexual assault. they’re more happy that people hate jesse lacey bc of some childish decades long feud than they are that an abuser was brought to justice and that the victim got some semblance of closure. it’s embarrasing.

Agreed. Obviously the villain in this situation is still Jesse, but there was an odd smugness to everything I saw come out of TBS's camp.

I mean, the guys in TBS got shit talked for years by "the scene" for warning people that JL was a huge asshole. I would bet they knew at least some of the specifics of what he was doing but it really wasn't thier place to put anything out to the public without the victims consent.

Honestly, I'd be a little smug too if I had finally been vindicated after years of people chalking it up to jealousy. If the victim didn't have a problem with Eddies comment, which it didn't seem like she did but who knows, then I don't think we should either.

don't really think a conversation surrounding issues of abuse/assault are ever the place for somebody's "I told you so" moment but w/e

I don't see why people assume mark smiled because of the feud? There's literally nothing indicating it. TBS/Nolan in particular have let it be understood that they had at least an inkling JL was a sexual predator, and that it was an open secret in older circles of the LI scene, but probs held in because it's the victim's place to decide whether or not to come out about it, especially since many of the victims still work in the scene and it would have alienated them at the time

Oh I agree and if it had been the TBS facebook or twitter or other social media posting something in the realm of "I told you so" then I think that would be gross. But a someone at a show smiling when JL gets called out publicly just isn't on the same thing, imo.

Edit: I'm happy when abusers get called out. The first time I hear about it? No, that's usually when I'm angry or sad. But if I have already heard some one get called out then that awareness spreading definitely puts a smile on my face.
