I hope this isn't the tour where they decide to stop playing stuff off The Upsides.

 

Anyone know when the soundcheck session usually starts? Contemplating getting VIP for my girlfriend and I but she's a teacher and I want to make sure she's done work and we can get to Fishtown in time for it. If @nicksteinborn is lurking, your input would be appreciated haha.

 

I just want them to keep WSP in their set forever

 

If I recall correctly, when I went two years ago, the VIP session started, like, an hour or so before the doors opened.

 

I assume they're going to play at least three or four songs from the new record at these shows. The tour doesn't start until it's been out for almost a full month. I guess logically The Upsides is the album that is going to suffer a cutback. I really hope they leave in WSP though, it's just such a staple and such an amazing live song.

 

They'll 100% play more than 3-4 off the new record

 

Well, I said "at least." They have such a big catalogue at this point that figuring out the proportions is probably going to be really hard for them.

 

Now that's a great line up

 

TMP is the only other band on the lineup that put out a record this year. Tigers Jaw and Worriers both had great records last year though.

I can't recommend that Worriers album enough

 

i don't like worriers that much actually but they're a good band to be on this bill.

TWY's show lineups since the acoustic tour last year have massively improved

 

My guess is probably 20-22 songs, around 5-6 from Sister Cities, 5-6 from No Closer and The Greatest Generation each, and the rest of the set is like Local Man, Swinging, a few other older songs.

 

What are they like?

 

Diversity level has increased since the bro tours, and I’m all for it.

 

worriers? melodic punk sung by not a dude. the whole like, cayetana realm. the new long neck album reminds me so much of worriers too

 

This band struggles to do more than 16 or 17 songs a regular tour, doubt they manage to break 20.

that five band bill of pop punk bros (that was actually two tours combined) was just a mess

 

Last electric headliner (Fall 2016) fluctuated between 19 and 20. Could be less this time.

 

What were the two original tours? They could have dropped MB and Real Friends and had a perfect tour.

 

It’s been for fucking ever, but I want to say we usually start VIP an hour before doors and ask people to show up a bit before that. If doors are 6:00, aim to get there at like 4:30-4:45. There will be an email with real info sent out obv.

 

Thanks! My girlfriend works in Upper Darby so we should be able to make it just fine. And thanks a while back for recommending El Limon and Ooka, finding good Mexican and sushi has made living in Lansdale a little easier.

 

i don't remember but i heard rumors of another band on the twy bill that got cut because of the merge.

I hope we get hit with the ol razzle dazzle and get treated to some deep/non traditional cuts

and now I'm nothing, everything I own fits in this backpack, salinger, hoodie weather, teenage parents.
