New Cold Collective is solid, pretty accessible too. Coloring Book is beautiful, and Modern Baseball is alright (coming from somebody who rarely listens to them.)

Also finally got around to listening to Sturgill Simpson's A Sailor's Guide to the Earth and that's killer. Definitely top 5 of the year for me.

A Thousand Times Repent - Virtue Has Few Friends

Every song feels necessary and urgent and it never feels like they're a Christian mimicry of Job For A Cowboy or Psyopus or any of those bands. They're as brutal as the rest of them. And they also manage to include clean, "progressive" bits that never feel hamfisted or obligatory; it's always tasteful and appropriate.

"So Much For Middle Earth" and "That Was The Night Everything Changed" are the jams.

I got way too into Pierce The Veil's new album this weekend. I gave "Circles" a shot a week or so ago and then the album a shot when it dropped on Friday and was shocked at how much I was liking it. I've known about them for years, but just shrugged them off due to the scene/name... new album is just solid stuff.

Checking this thread out for the first time

    Drake - Views
    I love Drake

    Skepta - Konnichiwa
Skepta has a really cool vibe and interesting sound. First rapper from London I've ever listened to

Chance The Rapper - Coloring Book
Can't give Chance enough praise. The mixtape is so damn good I can't stop listening. There's something new I pick up on with each listen and all the guest spots are a lot of fun

    Pierce The Veil - Misadventures
Man, I loved Collide With the Sky, but this PTV record is a dud for me. Idk if my music tastes have just changed completely or what, but I was just waiting for this album to end on my commute today

    The 1975 - iliwys...
I'm seeing this band for the first time tomorrow at Barclays in Brooklyn and I am STOKED

I also thought the PTV album was a total dud. I'm not much of a fan of the band or anything, but I thought a lot of the stuff on their last record was decent so I was hoping to enjoy this somewhat.

James Blake's The Colour In Anything has my heart crying. It's so beautiful, so haunting. Probably my favorite album of the year.

I'll have to check out the new Issues. I thought their last (first?) was very bad.

Highly recommend the new Kvelertak album. Not seen them written or talked about on here. But they aredescribedas black n roll (a mixture of black metal and classic rock)

    The Red Chord - Clients

I always thought this is what death metal would sound like if the rhythm section was made of jazz musicians.
