Yeah, of my favs I'd say the other contenders for me are:

Dawes: Nothing Is Wrong, Stories Don't End, All Your Favorite Bands, We're All Gonna Die (this would have been my pick for best 2010s run until Sleepwalkers.)
Butch Walker: I Liked It Better When You Had No Heart, The Spade, Afraid of Ghosts, Stay Gold (half a point for the Peachtree Battle EP)
Jason Isbell: Here We Rest, Southeastern, Something More Than Free, The Nashville Sound

Both Butch and Isbell, though, I'd say the first records of those runs are only half great.

Is the acoustic version of "Forget Me Not" going to be officially released? Would love either a 7" and/or a HQ mp3.

There is a 7". I think it came bundled with the LP from the record label?

Edit: heres where I saw it:

Wrecked 'em? Damn near killed 'em!

Sonically, it bores me though. Lyrically it’s great, don’t get me wrong. But the instrumentation doesn’t really hook me. If the bridge had transitioned into a bigger sounding final chorus, i’d feel differently. It’s not a bad song, but I prefer She Loves You over it

Exactly! And then have that bridge transition into a “bigger” sounding chorus.

Queen of Lower is easily my least favorite on AS

lyrically i do like QoLC but, musically it bores me. I’m always tempted to skip it when it comes on, but i usually wont.

I can always be better, so I'll always try. Supporter

It's the great straight-ahead rock song of the album. Everything else is either in a more soulful vein or a punky throwback to SOS/59 Sound.

I wouldn’t call queen a straight ahead rock song haha

Good lyrics can make an otherwise boring/plain song really worth listening to.

What? I've never heard anyone describe QoLC as a straight-ahead rock song. The guitars, and especially the drums, have a heavy Latin/dub flavor.

I’d say Clash influence, not Latin.

I get what you mean, but those snare drum cross-sticks are a classic Latin clave beat.

Fun fact: last Christmas all me and my family listened to was Fallon's music on repeat because he's the one artist me, my sisters and both my parents like. Lol

The Queen of Lower Chelsea is an amazing song, but I definitely would not describe it as a straight-ahead rock song, and I don't think I've ever heard anyone else describe it that way either...

I wouldn't be upset if that short gnarly part towards the end lasted a little longer.

So much of this album is about growing older, and not wanting to be alone. Really love this album already. All great songs that get stuck in your head.

Don't know if it counts but Taylor Goldsmith also has the Middle Brother album from 2011, which to me would be the third best Dawes album and the second best one this decade.

Didn’t realize his wife’s name is Stacy. I know he has two children, and based off his thank you list on the back of the album, I’m guessing a son named Jake and daughter named Layla? Maybe??

    “STACY!”
