I hope so. I really, really hope so. I think there's light for optimism. Just don't listen to what @Dirty Sanchez has to say on the subject.

Nah, they meant after the tours in 2018, it's over.

I'm pretty sure they specifically said the holiday shows in 2017 were the end unless something was in the works

No, they said they were doing those and then I think the international dates and then something “unlike anything they’ve done before” and then be done. I commented way back when hoping for discography shows and they liked the comment.

That announcement came out like the same time as the aus tour was announced I'm pretty sure.

"Speaking of nostalgia, we've been discussing what to do about this Thursday reunion. This coming year, we are going to take the show outside of North America and play all the countries that embraced us so thoroughly "back in the day." You can probably guess a few of them. [IMG];-)

The problem with nostalgia, and memory in general, is that it's a destructive process. Much like recording over the same cassette, again and again, the quality degrades with each pass. Put in a modern way, our memory is like a hard drive: the more you try to fit on it, the further it compresses, lowering the quality of the new memory and the original experience, too.

Rather than endlessly overwriting the original experiences that we shared with so many of you, we've been discussing how and when to wrap up this trip down memory lane. In the next year, we'll be announcing our international tours as well as a final group of dates in the US, that will be totally unlike anything we've ever attempted to do.

Beyond that, we will only return in the event of new music. And new music will only come if we feel it's truly inspired and adds a new dimension to the band. In our humble opinions, there are only a few bands that have put out records worth coming back for. Bands like Portishead and MBV.

We have loved every minute of these shows. We look forward to the next year and everything it brings."

I’m assuming each set will have some deep cuts for an encore, but I was definitely hoping for a full set of shows with eeeeeeverything. I know that’s a lot to ask though.

  13. 1. I wish it wasn't in the middle of the week
    2. I wish that the cheapest flights from Salt Lake City to San Francisco weren't $177 roundtrip with a 4 hour layover in Colorado (WTF?!)
    3. I wish that my girlfriend wasn't leaving 2 days before these shows so I'd have someone to watch our dog
    4. I may still find a way to go to at least the Full Collapse show

Fuck yeah baby. Would have preferred for it to be in Sac or at least Oakland. I’ll be at one of those shows

They’ve sold us on diversifying sets and “things we haven’t done before” and it’s usually largely the same set anyway, so at this point all I want is steps ascending and asleep in the chapel.

Feeling a tiny tiny bit annoyed with Thursday at the moment.

I tweeted Geoff asking whether there might be any headline shows in the UK and got no response, which makes me feel like there aren't going to be any because some publications did say that they were "UK exclusive" to Slam Dunk - I'm worried that is accurate. Hate to sound entitled but was hoping we'd get a bit more than a festival if this is indeed their last tour (and their first time in the UK for like 7 years). ThursMehhhhhh

Also those California shows sound beyond amazing and I am insanely jealous

I don't think I could do two shows cause the Friday one just won't work with my work schedule and the flights, but the Saturday war all the time show could. Sux cause if I do all this I'd like to go to both shows buuuut doesn't seem doable. Idkkkk

Watt is a much better record imo so at least you get to go to that one! Would love a show like that out in Jersey/Philly area
