Cannot imagine Eminem rapping over a Mike Will beat and don’t think I want to.

You really like Relapse more than Recovery? I honestly don't think I've ever heard that take. And I disagree vehemently!

Yeah music is subjective and all, but that opinion is just totally wrong! Haha personally I think Relapse is even worse that Revival....Recovery is my favorite Em album after his hiatus.

It’s become a more common take in the last few years but yeah, I just don’t see it.

Out of the 3 revival recovery and relapse recovery is the best of the 3

Despite the accents and subject matter, Em still raps his ass off on Relapse, some of his flows on that album are insane. The production is a lot better than the stuff after it besides MMLP2 for me but that's more of a personal opinion (last time he really worked extensively with Dre)

I agree that his flow is way better and I can appreciate that it's more Slim Shady on Relapse. Recovery is when he really got bad with the terrible forced punchlines too. But the accent REALLY murders that album that much for me. I despise Ass Like That and that accent over a whole album really makes it hard to listen to. I legit wish there was a version of that album where he just used his regular voice and it could probably be my favorite out of the last 4 or 5.

Ass Like That is on Encore lol, which is actually his worst album

If he didn't make Ass Like That maybe Relapse would've been rapped in a voice that I don't have to shut off lol

Encore has some bad songs on it, but you can't label it his worst album when it has Evil Deeds, Never Enough, Encore, Mosh and Toy Soldiers on it.

Relapse and Encore are both way better than his last three.

Hmmm, I actually think very highly for Recovery.

Relapse is almost unlistenable for me.

I think very highly of Recovery as well. Cold Wind Blows, Talkin' 2 Myself, Won't Back Down, Not Afraid, Seduction, No Love, Cinderella Man, 25 to Life, Love the Way You Lie, and You're Never Over are all incredible songs. The rest ranges from meh to good, but post-hiatus it's definitely his best IMO. And it definitely smashes the fuck out of Encore haha

Alright, so I just listened to this today front to back for the first time. It's not nearly as bad as many of some of you are making it out to be. That said, my expectations were pretty much rock bottom considering all the things I read about it.

Nineteen songs is obviously way too many, but there are 8 or 9 enjoyable tracks on there - Walk on Water, Believe, River, Like Home, Framed, Nowhere Fast, In Your Head, Castle, Arose

Somehow this German rap magazine got an Eminem interview this month and it's crazy. He explains his process and it sounds like a nightmare. He's very obsessive and he sees all these pitfalls that aren't actually there. His music sounding the way it sounds makes perfect sense to me now. He should really just rent a studio for himself and Alchemist in the Alps somewhere for two weeks and just let it all go and just rap.

Sadly no. The big points (I'm not using hyperbole, he uses words like "obsessed" and so on himself in this interview):

    - He constantly reads internet comments about his work. He says that they often make him feel bad. He says he wants to show the haters that he still got it, that that is huge driving force behind his work. It's sad because clearly that's not how the internet works. Also, He says that if he would think that he would not be a good rapper anymore - like the comments say - he would maybe jump of a bridge.

    - He says he is obsessed with not repeating anything ever, and that that cripples him because he feels like he has no original thoughts/ideas left. Because of this, he sometimes likes to go back to old ideas, but in a "grander" way. My guess is this leads him from I Love The Way You Lie to Walk On Water and so on. He also mentions that this is where the accents come in.

    - He says he is constantly obsessing over every rhyme, every WORD, every beat, and that it's driving him crazy.

    - He likes writing, but not necessarily the tiring work in the studio, BUT he still only wants to record in a traditional studio environment.

    - He basically says he still would be working on the bridges on Revival if Rick Rubin hadn't told him enough is enough.

    - He still loves battle rap the most. Hence my original comment about him and Alchemist or someone like that.

It's a pretty wild interview, especially given that it's "just" a German rap magazine.

Framed's one of my favorite songs from the album, but I'm kind of surprised they made a video for it. I assumed they were gonna push Nowhere Fast as the next single.
