On its face a triple album sounds horrifically bloated but since it’s technically 2 solo albums and a Rae Sremm album I could get behind this idea

I am deeply about this idea, hope it’s the truth and hope it’s soon (since Jan has pretty much come and gone and the album didn’t arrive, as promised)

 

I could see it happening, and soon, but Ransom 2 was delayed so many times that I don’t really know when to actually expect to hear it. Also soon doesn’t mean anything to me anymore when it comes to hip hop releases haha.

 

This is all true. It’s easily one of my most anticipated for the year though. The leap from the first album to second was immense and Swae has only sounded better and better since. I’m so curious to hear how he approaches a solo record.

 

Exactly, I've been wanting them to try some solo stuff since they each have solo features and writing credits

Hi thread. im on a big hip-hop kick lately. im by no means super knowledgeable though in the genre. i love watching Dead End Hip Hop to find stuff, especially Mykes recs im usually pretty into. Im wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of like a website or zine or blog or whatever where i can keep discovering that kind of hip-hop / rap music. i love Kendrick, he pretty much got me into rap when good kid came out. this last couple weeks ive also been listening to Open Mike Eagle,
Milo, stuff like that.

 

Okayplayer is always good.

Ambrosia For Heads is old head-ish but they have the most thorough newsletter I know, especially with regards to conscious rap and underground rap and so on.

Passion Of The Weiss is good.

2DopeBoyz is a very active blog that posts basically everything.

I like Pigeons and Planes if I had to pick one blog, covers the more well known stuff and a lot of under the radar stuff in hip hop and related genres. But they cover a lot, so it does involve a little bit of digging.

I’m a fan of Passion of the Weiss, used to follow 2DB obsessively.

A bit of an AP deep cut but s/o to weworemasks, as it got me into a LOT of stuff when I first really started getting into hip hop

 

I don't have time to do regular deep dives into 2DopeBoyz like I used to do as a teen anymore and it's giving me fomo

P&P is decent for buzzing artists. I really like their Apple Music Playlist. Very easy to figure out what the shitty hype artists are and weed them out quickly
