    Die rad.

I saw TDA again yesterday and if the controversy didn't happen for Franco, I really think it should have had a few nods. Its a great performance on his part. Someone said its more comedy, but I don't agree really with that. Lots of emotion throughout movie. But yes some comedic stuff. But its not meant to be comedic if that's just Tommy in real life.

It is hilarious that The Greatest Showman did not get any of the major awards.

    The book was awesome too!

  4. I don't know if it was already mentioned, but it's worth noting that Rachel Morrison (Mudbound) is the first woman to be nominated for Cinematography.

Golden Circle could have been nominated for Best Use of Elton John though.

It was a pretty good movie though, but I question his logic when he also states X-men Apocalypse should have won anything other than a Razzie....

haha For sure, but also even off of the website. The number of people I know personally who think Wonder Woman deserved a Best Picture nomination is larger than it should be. I loved Wonder Woman as much as anyone but it's not as good as 7 of the 9 Best Picture nominees and definitely isn't as good as several of the films that were snubbed (i.e. Blade Runner, The Florida Project, Mudbound).

Oh haha, my work has twitter blocked so I only got the preview text below the tweet. That sounds like a parody so it makes sense lol.

The joke about Kingsman 2 works a little less when films like Three Billboards actually do get nominated by a bunch of people who watch a small handful of films each year.

Yeah watching Brie Larson have to present every award to him at every ceremony was incredibly infuriating, so watching him present this year’s award would have just reopened that wound. Glad he has the sense to not get involved, although it sounds like they wanted to go in a different direction anyway.

I liked that group of prior winners thing in 2008, but I think I’d prefer it if they just went with the same tradition and just had someone else present best actress. Maybe Leo?

Also, they’re going to have to go through this again next year with Gary Oldman, so that’ll be fun.

Yeah it did. Maybe just pick like one "living legend" prior winner in each category? And otherwise just have them introduce the clips like usual, instead of talking about each one like back then? But I was also always a fan of the "passing of the torch" mentality behind the way they usually do it so I don't know.

Just pick a random person in the audience, we're gonna forget by the next day anyways

One cool thing that I haven't seen get any attention: Strong Island, one of the nominees for Best Documentary (it's on Netflix, check it out!), was directed by Yance Ford, and is the first trans filmmaker to ever be nominated for an Oscar.
