I've quite literally never seen or heard anyone anywhere say that Leonard is better than James.

 

Lebron's final 10 games of the season were unreal.

25.7 ppg on 65% shooting, 8 reb, 8.5 ast

 

let me re-phrase then - I can't believe media types thought Leonard was more valuable than Lebron James. Because that is totally absurd.

 

Ya well, the media are sheep. I love when they start believing the very dumb hype they regurgitate.

 

They basically try to tell us what we're supposed to care about.

I think Mike and Mike are the worst about it. 4 hours of hot takes.

 

Its not even just them, I was listening to le batard and usually they dont have a ton of hot takes. In fact they usually make jokes out of hot takes but even they were like sucking that warrior gold everyone is selling. Gsw could have a horrible, garbage game where no one really scored a ton and the narrative will still be like "omg that was perfected basketball from the gods of all that is holy", "basketball from the future and everyone is playing in the stone age" etc. The media is the worst, they create this ridiculous overstated nonsense and then weeks later theyre following it themselves lol

Again, not saying everyone but a good amount of the more popular personalities (esp. ESPN).

 

yeah, kinda stopped paying attention to skip/stephen when they had a hot take on those dungy/michael sam comments.

 

Well, regarding GSW, the praise for them is obviously annoying but it's expected. They won 73 games and have the back to back MVP golden boy. I find the hate from the retired players more annoying than the media praise.

But overall, I agree with you. Media sucks.

 

ESPN is sensationalized garbage 80% of the time. I remember being at a restaurant and "Pardon the Interruption" was on and my girlfriend said it looked like a gossip show dressed up as a sports show. I know it's not the worst show but that gave me a chuckle.

 

They overdramatize everything to the point where you cant tell between the truth and extreme exaggeration. I can't stand when someone tells me how to feel about something that I have a much less bias toward than they do. I understand when something is awesome and when its not. Its like you're trying to sell me a product I'm not into but you're pushing it anyway.

 

Yea, unfortunately it's how you get ratings and survive in media these days. Over exaggerated hot takes get more attention than "Lebron James, still one of the best players".

 

Doing hot takes is fun, and they're fun to hear cause they make people fight

Kawhi is a fraud and never should've won finals MVP, if he was on another team he'd be out of the league by now

The Cavs would get swept by an eighth seed in the West, they're so lucky they only have to play garbage east teams

Westbrook is personally going to drive out KD by chucking up this next series, they aren't even close to hanging with GSW


Golden state should blow it up, they getting old and Curry is hurt too much, trade him for assets and try to get a draft pick

I also found it funny because of the conversation last night about how "classy" and amazing they were ...

 

Like I don't get it... Because he hired Becky Hammond he's allowed to be rude and disrespectful to Doris?

 

Just watched Pop's presser. Yeah...really comes off as a tool, it was hard to watch.

 

I missed his sideline interview with Doris, but was it anymore dismissive than usual? I personally think the sideline interviews are so damn pointless. They add nothing to the game experience.

 

I agree with this, you always know what they're going to ask and how the coaches are going to respond.

 

That doesn't mean it's okay to be a dbag to people who are just doing their job

 

The sideline interview was the same as usual but his post-game presser was bad.

 

While the Blazers people here are still basking in LMA's playoff out: the way this season played out for both teams got me thinking again about how talented last year's Portland team was, even post-Matthews. They obviously underachieved against Memphis independent of injuries, but it would be been fun to have seen them go at full strength. All very likable guys, too.

 

Assuming he resigns, I'm pretty happy with the Batum for Vonleh/Henderson trade.
