I was still thoroughly in the CCM scene in '98 (I was also 9), so at the time I was really into Newsboy's Step Right Up to the Microphone and dcTalk's Supernatural.
but nowadays I'd put In the aeroplane over the sea, F#A#infinity, XO, and How it Feels to Be Something On

Has a new "I've Been Meaning To Check Out _____, Where Do I Start?" thread been put up yet? I have a few artists I've been wanting to start with for a while but have been unsure where to begin. Or would this thread simply serve that purpose?

Is there a difference between 7/4 time signatures and alternating 4/4 and 3/4? I'll post a song I heard today for reference when I get home. Seems like some work either way and others don't.

    Edit: starts around 2:30

Really no difference, except that a bar of 7/4 is obviously a larger unit, so it's more likely to be "felt" as two uneven beats than seven separate ones, if that makes sense.

i don't know why the last album thread hasn't kicked off on this site. it was one of my fav threads on AP and i discovered so many gr8 albums through it

on that note sometimes i worry that i'm never going to hear another album that affects me the way Home and The Sunset Tree did in 2014. finding my two favorite albums ever within months of each other was so special and irreplaceable.

Sometimes I like think of gimmick band ideas that could be fun. Today, I want to start a loud punk band that performs in nun costumes.

Wait, they never pressed any of their older stuff on wax? Their early records would make a mint if they did.

I did this, except with Spotify playlists. I make one for each year and add all the albums I listened to. 2006-07 was a formative period for sure.

Is anybody completely underwhelmed by the new ADTR track.

I've not been a huge fan since Homesick but the song actually sounds like a lost demo from a circa 2004 victory records band. I quite liked Paranoia.

Maybe it's just representative of how much my tastes have shifted over the past 2 years.

I think ADTR has reached as far as they can go as a band. Like if people dig it, cool. However, it just sounds like everything they've ever put out as a band and I feel like I've heard it all before. Their popularity still surprises me though, since they mostly just play festivals instead of touring nowadays.

Is this the right place to discuss how we can push Junk Porch Step out of music forever?

i dno, i feel like i now get really attached to a handful of albums and i worry less about trying to listen to everything everyones buzzing about every month. it has its pros and cons, but i miss aspect of how i used to be.

I tried keeping up on everything for a while and failed miserably. I just can't do it. I try to stay as up to date as I can but I'll never be one of those people who listens to hundreds of new records each year.
