HiRez delayed the Season 5 patch announcements to tomorrow due to the snow storms in Atlanta.

I want to actually be bitter because I asked for today off so I could watch so now I am missing it tomorrow :(

 

They keep adding great stuff. Nice to see Rime in there.

I waited for Final Fantasy XV for most of my conscious life and I am disappointed.
I was hoping for a more responsive combat system. It's not terrible, I just feel like the game is taking control of the motion more than I am - I feel detached compared to Kingdom Hearts and like any melee based action game.
It's great that they're adding all of this story related stuff but I still can't get past this. It's the greatest gaming disappointment I've experienced for sure.

 

do you have ps4? you should prob bail on it and play XIV with us instead!

I think FFXV is very weird. I can't call it bad but it feels like it was made in a parallel universe.

 

My favorite thing about FFXV is the photorealistic Coleman brand camping gear that is for some reason advertised everywhere.

 

I enjoyed FFXV, I definitely plan on revisiting it once the Royal Edition comes out too to see all they've added, especially since I never did any of the DLC

 

I want the first person mode but I don't want to pay 20$ for it

 

Likewise, might be the most disappointed I've ever been in a game.

 

A game doesn't usually go through development hell because it's coming together well, so the writing was kind of on the wall. It's funny because I have no nostalgia or anything towards the brand Final Fantasy, I even think a lot of those games are overrated, yet I seem to like 15 more than a lot of people that do have that affection for the brand.

 

only thing FFXV has going for it when i get to it is the contrast to how incredibly unenjoyable FFXIII was

 

It might be the weirdest top tier AAA game I have seen in a long time, that counts for something I think. I mean, that mechanic, it's so fucking weird.

 

i bought a 360 on the day FFXIII launched with the scraps of cash i had left over from my middling retail job and it was one of the most soberingly disappointing days of my young adult life to drop $250 i barely saved on something i wound up hating. luckily i traded it in for Oblivion GOTY and had my shit fucked up

 

Unpopular opinion FFXIII stayed with me much more than FFXV did

And I was definitely in the "I'm happy waiting 10 years and just want this game" camp

 

In a way they're kinda opposites

FFXIII has such an in depth plot with difficult to comprehend names and concepts that feel overwhelming and it's hard to get anything out of it as a result

While FFXV dumbed down the plot so much that parts of it lacked any kind of substance or staying power and it's hard to get anything out of it as a result

FFXIII had an amazing lead and a letdown of an antagonist

While FFXV had a letdown of a lead and an amazing antagonist

All just my opinion though (and I haven't played XIII-2 or LR so those aren't factored in)
